Help...error codes and more codes....
I was tinkering around with my previously installed Navtool Unit (it's a video interface which I successfully installed myself About 3 years ago).
I installed this fast charge thingy from amazon by tapping into the wires of the navtool using Posi-taps (ever heard of them? They’re awesome.)
If you are unfamiliar with EITHER of these please google. I was numbskull and didn’t disconnect the battery first, and mindlessly had the Accessory mode on. (Yes, I am aware that was stupid. Not sure why I didn’t think to turn the car off.). So now when I turn the car on...I get every error message possible. Suggesting I check SH-AWD, Emissions, Blind Spot Monitor, Engine, The AC stops working, you name it, it comes on.
Heres the Caveat. I could just simply remove the Navtool unit, BUT the original 21 pin Wire harness (the one that came with the car) only works because the navtool unit is connected.
The yellow Wire (which is the Steering wheel controls) broke from age? So Thankfully, Navtool Has replica harnesses....to the factory harnesses that connects all the pieces.
So by using their harness, I avoid the car recognizing that stupid yellow wire is broken.
Here are my questions and concerns:
• Do you think I could have blown a fuse? I checked all the fuses, and none show blown.
• How much would it cost (a guess) to replace a factory harness? The one that comes from the dark abyss behind the stereo and connects/powers the Nav Stereo unit
• Do you think I may have damage my navtool and that is the culprit? Since I tapped into its wires while it was on like an idiot?
• Conversing with Navtool customer support is like…pulling teeth. The guy is so confrontational and thinks he knows EVERYTHING.
Ideas people….please…
