Head light washers

I just recently got a Canadian 2012 Acura TL, so it has the headlight washers which is pretty cool but i can’t find a any videos or diagrams of how it works. Took my bumper off the other day the change a head light and now i can hear them spray but they won’t pop out. Any body else have this issue or maybe can explain how they work. I really can’t find anything online

All I know is this feature is quickly hated by all owners.
i removed this feature by disconnecting the 2nd washer pump that goes to the headlights through the bottom of the passenger bumper. This particular newer multi fuse under the engine bay cannot be removed individually.

Gonna disagree there, I love the headlight washers for the winter. I do a lot of highway driving and the salt spray from cars ahead when driving in the evening/night really does reduce light output. The washers make quick work of cleaning the lenses. Maybe I'm the odd one out.

Panda makes a strong opinion with little/no back up "hated by all owners". Total bullcrap. Headlight washers are very common in Europe and other countries and my personal experience has been positive. I think they'd be well-received in the US snowbelt areas for the very same reason that you quote... removal of salt spray.

Ok then, have at it with the headlight sprayers lol
For the smarter ones, this post is to help them avoid removing the bumper or damaging their fuse box.
On the contrary, they are not very well received for the people that own them. You are the odd one out.

Fair point on the bumper removal bit, but why would you say most people hate headlight washers? I can't say I've seen or heard anything negative about them.

My objection to your post is twofold. First the original post was asking if others had issues with their washers, and "How does the system work". You clearly didn't answer his legitimate questions and/or point him in the right direction for his further research. Second you somehow felt obligated to make an outrageous claim re "How the feature is perceived "by all owners"". Had you refrained from giving your two cents worth about the value of the washers and just provided your quick-n-dirty fix I'd embrace your suggestion. Sometimes its best to just address the question being posed, and leave the editorial comments in the can, as they add no true value to the discussion.

Just trying to save you the time and headache.
By all means go ahead and play around with it, but you WILL be disabling it sooner than later as they're more nuisance than they're worth with the way Acura wired it and the temporary solution to that is in my first post. If they design a relay to plug and play that would be a great alternative for manual use. During the vast majority of the year, there is nothing to clean and spraying your entire front of a freshly washed and waxed car just because you wanted to have lights on at night and clean a smidge of water drops off the screen. They also leak after some time, even in Europe. I'm sure you'll love removing the bumper for that.

I guess the way it works bothers some people, but I've never thought it to be an issue. FWIW mine is over 10 years old now and they work fine and don't leak.

Headlight washer is a must-have feature for cars being driven in the frigid Canadian climate.

During the long and wet Canadian winter months, road salts and road grimes will cover up the headlights in no time, resulting in much reduced front illumination available from the dirty headlights. Headlight washer is the only way to restore most of the headlight output by washing away the salts/grimes.

Even better if the headlights have both spray washer and headlight wiper.

I've always loved the baby wipers on older Euro cars.
