Exclamation Gurgling sound from the engine

Hi,

I get this gurgling sound from the engine when I accelerate from a stop under light load and goes away after I hit 5-10mph and higher RPM's. As the car warms up the noise mostly goes away except if I accelerate really hard from a stop and I hear it maybe just once and then the engine sounds silky smooth. The sound is like air bubbles in water as they pop or pouring soda from a 2 liter bottle. I hope someone knows what I am talking about.

Doing some googling, the most prevalent answer seems to be air in coolant and to fix this by adding coolant in the overflow reservoir.

Anybody here have this problem with their TL. I have the 3.7L engine.

Thanks in advance.

I think I know what your talking about. I have the 3.5 though. It only comes out with hard acceleration. I was worried about it at first, but now I don't really mind. I somewhat sounds like it's air quickly passing through the intake?

Then again, don't quote me on that, I'm not an engineer.

Does your TL do it when cold? When cold, I don't have to accelerate hard at all to produce this but when warm I do have to accelerate hard. I can replicate it every morning when the car has sat overnight and this goes on for a good 2-3 minutes until the car is somewhat warm. After that it happens but not as prominent. I do have to have the radio off to hear this though.

If I remembered correctly people have said this is normal when the engine is cold. It runs very rich so it's dumping a lot of fuel in it. Once warmed up, it levels out and you won't have the gurgling noise.

If you pop the hood when you start it in the morning cold, you'll REALLY hear it!

I don't hear it when the car is not moving. It only happens when I accelerate. I hear this type of sound a lot when people who race cars, change their exhaust systems and the engine when revved sounds like bubbles popping in rapid fire. I took it to a dealer today and their master tech said that he didn't hear anything and wanted me to leave it overnight but they didn't have a loaner so I'll have to wait till next week when I have time off.

This is not a problem that will affect the engine but it sure is annoying as heck since the engine feels rough and not silky smooth.
