I just got stopped by a state trooper today at around 530pm, for having no brake lights working on my 2001 Acura cl. I have had a problem with my shifter not getting out of park for two weeks now. Never realized my brake lights weren't functioning either.

Anyway, to cut the long story short. I went to the web to figure out what the problem was. Pointed to the brake light switch causing these problems for me. Si i went to the nearest AUTOZONE and bought myself a new brake light switch for $32. Went home and put on some work clothes, and replaced the brake light. Everything is working perfect now. you don't need to unscrew anything except the brake light itself. Pretty easy stuff.

Thought i should share my story. Maybe someone out there might get the same problem in the future.
