Gas Smell on Startup

Hi Everyone,

Acura 2012 TL FWD
So lately when starting the car (Canadian Winter) I can smell a strong gas smell. Just now I was outside shovelling my drive way and moved the car from one side to the other and when i got back outside i can smell it. It doesn't seem to be doing this all the time, just on really cold days.

Is this normal? Or should I bring it in to the dealer?

Thanks.

We recently had a lot of snow in my area and the temp was dropped down around 9 degree. I move my car from one side of the drive way to the other to clean the snow but I didn't recall a strong gasoline smell.
How cold was it when you smell that? I think when in doubt just drop it at the dealership just to make sure, the car is still under warranty so it doesn't cost you anything.. ..
Oh btw, mine is SH-awd but i don't think it will make a different..

I think its normal (when you first start the car, especially in extreme cold...) That's the point of the catalytic converters, to burn up the excess fuel. Since the car is cold the cat isnt warmed up yet... And the engine is revving higher than idle (specifically to warm up the cat quickly)

What Darocc said above. Is it a gasoline smell or strong exhaust smell? I believe these cars have cats up front to light faster, but still if its really cold, they need a minute to heat up and work.
Now if its gasoline, I agree, definitely get it to the dealer.
