Front End Noise - When Turning
Hey guys,
I'm hearing a very very slight noise at this point only when I am turning on a full right from a stop light/sign. It doesn't happen when I am making a slight turn to the right while driving. Doesn't happen at all when turning left.
Now forgive me for trying to describe this but it sort of makes a Cshh-Cshhhh-Cshhhhhh sound which is aligned with the speed of the wheel turning. Still very slight at this point but if you try and listen you will hear it. I'd like to fix it before the winter comes should it happen to get worse and I'm stuck fixing this out in the cold. I don't notice any driveability issues, just the sound.
Could this be the start of a CV joint going bad? Are there any things I should visually check for?
Car is a 2012 SH-AWD
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the early stages of a CV joint. Mine went bad on my 2010, very similar symptoms. My joints were not even leaking, but progressively got worse. In my case, the cold made it worse, and the noise would get better as the car warmed up.
I just ordered OEM parts from Bernardi Acura - Roughly $320 or so IIRC with shipping, and had a local mechanic install for $190 -- This was for the entire axle assembly for both sides.

How long did it take for your symptoms to get worse? Mine is barely audible now. I am going to do coilovers in the spring so I'm wondering if I'm okay to wait until then to do it all at once. I will only drive 10-15,000km over the winter at most.

I was wondering what that same noise on my 2012 FWD was as well. It doesn't happen all that often right now. For me it does it on left turns.
I've been been having a issue with the car shaking at 75+ mph, and various clunking noises when I let off the gas then press it again. No clue if any of this is related however.

I would look into your power steering fluid level especially that its worse when cold and less audible when warm.

Axles would be my best bet, there's a national backorder as far as I know from acura on them and they are around $180. Raxles can rebuild the factory ones and charge around $220. The 3G TL guys and VW/Audi guys love them since they hold a lot more power, last longer when lowered and have a lifetime warranty. Beats the $500/axle Honda/Acura/audi/VW want.

Mine does this on low and high speed turns. Initially I thought it was the brakes but I changed those this weekend and it is still there. I also thought it was the dust shields but there are no witness marks to indicate there is rubbing. Typically when CV joints go it is a clicking sound but this sounds like light metal to metal contact just as the OP described. Loud enough to be audible from either in or outside the car.
How can this be a bearing if there is no noise unless I make a turn? Doesn't make sense as bearing make noise regardless if you are in a straight line or turn. I'm puzzled but don't want to pay the stealership $150 to tell me it is something that it isn't.
