Front Bumper Dent

There's a small dent on my 09 TL's front bumper right under the towing cap and above the lights. The dealership quoted about 1g to replace entire bumper, replace towing cap, then paint the whole thing and labor to take apart and put back together.

Is is really necessary to replace the whole bumper just for a small dent?

Also, if I ordered an OEM front bumper, does it need to be painted or does it already come in the same color as my car?

The bumper is plastic, a proper body-shoppe should be able to fix this for cheap.

There is nothing a body shop does for cheap. I had two small scratches on the tsx bumper and it cost me $550 to have it repaired.

Had a couple scratches taken out of mine by cheap shop. The average person could never tell, but it bugs me everytime I look at it because it is not perfect. So if you want to save $600, take it elsewhere. If you're picky like me, replace the entire clip.

No need to replace the whole bumper. Should be able to get it fixed for like $350-$400.

A good shop should be able to pop up the dent and blend the paint. If you do choose to replace everything I'd call Tim Poliniak.

I filled a claim thru my insurance company on a couple of scratches and dings. The insurance company's adjuster told me i needed a new bumper, paint, and labor would cost a cool $1,000.

^^^

They always quote high, just not as high as shops/dealers; if you're savvy you'll get the work done to your liking and have a nice chunk of change left over.
