Front brakes won't stop squeaking! Helpppp
Can someone please give me a solution to my front brake problem? I have a 2009 acura tl sh-awd and the front brakes won't stop squeaking! I have OEM rotors that are new and new brake pads from autozone which are the top of the line pads! I've greased the brakes and caliper and the sound goes away for a bit and comes back...HELPPPP

I'm hearing the squeal when i apply pressure to the brakes, it had left for a good month but just came back out of nowhere. I bought the most expensive pads from autozone, they were about 70 and change...this is the 3rd set i changed just incase they were faulty...i honestly can't figure this out and it's frustrating as hell man

I kept my rotors and used Akebono Pro act ceramic pads https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...id=390&jpid=61 They are the OE manufacturer

I think that unfortunately, when you use non-OEM pads, this is one of the possible "side effects."

Go back to OEM pads. There are many reasons why acura chose a certain pad over all others to use as the original pad. I guarantee you one of those reason is bc they're quiet.

2010 TL SH-AWD
I usually use advanced auto, autozone, or napa pads on my accord. Even though i bought the most expensive one (platnium, titanium, diamond series) they are still junk. I had to return it and get a regular semi metallic which is cheaper and grip as hell.
But anyhow back to your problem. Picture the pad as a fruit jello cup. The fruit being the metallic or whatever metal is in there. As your pad wears down you hit certain metals that will not mate too well with the rotors surface and thus causing the squeak. That is why your first month was fine because the stubborn piece of metal is just right under the upper layer of the pads.
For this, i agree with others. OEM pads ftw.

Every mechanic I know personally uses Wagner Thermoquiet because they are .... quiet. I've used them for years and NEVER had a noise issue after installation. Also, the brake dust is almost non-existent. And what dust is there is easily removed.

Acura had a problem with the rotors on the ILX.
They (apparently) had small cracks in them from the manufacturer.
Do you have a way to possibly try some different rotors?
Are you sure the pistons are free in the calipers and the calipers are being installed correctly?
