Exhaust smoke during hard acceleration

The other day my friend was following behind me and I gunned it down the highway after getting stuck behind a couple trucks. He informed me that during my hard acceleration, thick exhaust smoke only exited through my left exhaust and not my right.

During this past winter though, when my car was idling with the heater on, I noticed both exhausts had a steady flow of smoke exiting. Is this normal or is there a problem with my exhaust?

*No modifications have been done to the car*

Color was light to dark gray, I could see it out of my rear windows but it dissipated quickly into the air. It wasn't too thick as to cause an alarm but it was consistent.

I just made an appointment with the dealer next week so maybe they can help solve the issue(or ease my paranoia). I'll keep everyone posted.

Its totally normal under hard acceleration the exhaust fumes will increase and mostly exit the pipe of least resistance.

Probably a little extra stuff being burned since it's driven hard. Probably nothing but better to have a ease of mind. Goodluck

Shouldn't be anything to worry about in the Winter months. You are more than likely seeing the warm exhaust air condensating in the cold winter air. This is very common, unless I am misunderstanding what you are describing.

Sorry about the confusion, I just stated that to let others know that it seemed like it was working fine in the winter. However, with the recent season change, I wanted to see if that could have been an issue as well. Regardless, I'll get more updates after this dealership appt.
