Engine/Trans noise help

I have a 2012 TL 3.7l AWD auto with 2000 miles and this is my problem...

When I am lightly on and off the throttle (light excel/decel) I hear a metallic noise? When I use manual mode trans and the engine decelerates and then accelerates the noise happens all the time. Sounds like something is hitting or banging something...? Like metal to metal sound..?.?

Is this normal or a problem? I don't want to bring it in if this is just a normal characteristic of the car.
Trans and engine function great other then this odd noise.

Anyone else hearing such a thing?

Thanks

I have been experiencing a similar thing whereas my Auto Trans feels like a Manual Trans at times. I hear a noise that usually comes from a Manual Trans when you are on the 3rd Gear and you are trying to accelerate from 20 km/h. I still remember this kind of jerkness in manual trans vehicles. Is this the same thing that you are experiencing?

Sounds like the torque converter is the culprit, mine did the same prior to replacing it. There are many threads on this problem, of you go a search you can find some more threads

It is a bad obnoxious problem that drives me crazy. It has progressively gotten worse over time.

My 2012 TL also has a lull or lag between shifting while in 3rd gear when at 1500-2000 rpm that in combonation of the first issue will drive a person crazy.

This is just the beginning of the problems.

The dealers says he cant fix it and Acura Corporate says live with it.

Wish I never would of purchased this 40K lemon.

I had the same problem with my 2010TL and my family had engine failure on the 401 around London Ontario. I had 2 dealers tell me it was not an issue prior to the event!. IT WAS!

I have been jacked around on this problem since day 1.
I HATE ACURA PERIOD!
I wouldn't buy one again. EVER!!
Worst car manufacturer in the world.
The car has been in 8+ times and they say theres nothing wrong with it.
If they turn a wrench on it they will own it under the lemon law.
There for they wont.
