Hello all,

I am a new owner of a 2012 TL SH-AWD. I am noticing that the engine fan comes on every 20-30 seconds and runs for about a min or two. Is that normal?

I see that there is a lot of plastics under the hood, sound deadening im guessing. So I dont see much area for venting the heat. Seeing if this is a normal thing or should I drill some holes in the hood

 

Have not spent a lot of time in the car but notice the fan does seem to come on very soon or just more often than I have come to known as typical.

 

does it do this with the AC on or all the time? could be the AC compressor kicking in.

 

Not sure. Ill do some driving with the AC on and then off to see if there is a difference.

“Put the Drill Down”!!! There are several thread running around on this one. I think the general consensus is that it is normal, just a bad design I guess on Acura’s part. The fan cycling every 20-30 sec highly annoying but you get use to it.

 

I have a 2012 TL w/ SH-AWD and that happens for mine as well ....
