Dreaded Oil consumption - What now?
Hey guys, 2010 6mt, and I'm currently annihilating a quart of oil every 750 miles or less. Unfortunately, I'm not stock (RV6 pre-cats, ATLP J and 3rd) Not the 1st owner and I'm around 92k miles. From what I've read, the SH-AWD trans mounts differently than its predecessors, and dropping 5 grand on a new shortblock at a dealer sounds like a nightmare. So my question is...
What now? I've read the horror stories of others that have dealt with this issue as well, along with the runaround they got from Acura.
my first thought (with a honda mindset) was "what motors bolt up to this trans"? Still out on that as far as knowledge is concerned, but is my number 1 prospect, especially if there is a J35 that will bolt up.

Another guy here started using marvel mystery oil frequently and did oil changes every 500 or so miles for a little bit and then his issues were gone. Try that before you spend $$$ on a new engine! The MDX 2010+ might bolt up but it may be the same engine anyway!
