Display

I just purchased a CPO 2009 TL (Base Model) and the display during startup goes blank for several seconds; is this normal?

Thanks.

The display showing the time, radio station, etc. It goes blank for about 5 seconds before re-iluminating the information (time, radio station, etc.).

Just checked mine in the garage and it comes back on in less than a second. 5 seconds is a long time. Not sure why yours would take that long to come up

It is normal for all displays and (if they are on) lights to go blank momentarily at start: the feature is designed to enable the battery to supply all its energy to the starter motor. Having said that, 5 seconds is a little on the long side: if the starter motor is actually cranking for that long, I suspect a weak battery: I would replace it, even temporarily, with a new and fully charged one to verify: if the display goes balnk for only one or two seconds instead of five, it certainly is the battery.
