buzzing at 2100 RPM

Has anybody else heard a buzzing/rattling on the driver side to the left of and below the steering wheel? Its hard to tell, but it sounds metalic. It happens precisely at 2100 RPM during acceleration, and is rather annoying. I have an appointment for the dealer to take a look at it in a couple of weeks.

Is there a singe gear that you can notice it occur in? Or is 2100RPM just were your transmission shifts to the next gear. Usually a sound resulting in metal on metal contact is consistent at a given speed. Also check the dust cover on the brake rotor on the left front wheel. See if it is touching the back of the rotor causing the sound.

Hi, my '02 RSX-S exhibits a metallic noise at precisely 2200 RPM from a similar location. Were you ever told what the cause of yours was? Could be a separate issue, but you describe it exactly as I would.

It ended up being the hood latch. It took several trips to the dealership including a couple of times of them keeping it over night. Finally, a honda specialist took a look at it and discovered that the hood latch was a bit loose. That resulted in vibration traveling along the metal wire to the hood release in the cabin. They replaced the latch and the problem went away.

It's amazing when you find something so trivial to cause such problems! Glad you found the cause!

My 10 TL has a buzz about the same RPM; not all the time, but occassionally. If I grasp the wheel firmly and/or push down on it the noise disappears. The dealer tried to find it but could never hear the noise.
