Console light cover/loose bolt
Console light cover/loose bolt
Hi guys,
I noticed that the little cover over the light in the center console snapped off. If I put it back on, it barely stays on. Is there a part number/method for reattaching it? I don't want to just glue it on in case the bulb burns out.
Also, when I was vacuuming under the driver's seat, I found a loose bolt and washer. I looked under the seat but didn't find any obvious spot where something was missing. I've attached pix. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike

Every car I've ever owned has, at some point, turned up a random bolt (sometimes with a washer) that I've been unable to place. Bit if a pain, because you don't want to throw it away, but if your situation is like all of mine were, one day you'll sell the car, and the bolt will still be loose under the seat.
I'm starting to think the manufacturers, or perhaps the mechanics, are simply throwing an extra bolt in to mess with our heads. Pretty clever, when you think about it.

It may be #3 in the diagram http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no
... but not sure.
PS. I am too scared to look under my seat...

Can't help you on the bolt, but for the console light, get a trim tool and remove the rear AC/heat vents (you will notice a seam around area that houses the vents right behind the centre console lid). Use the trim tool to gently pry that apart (its held in by plastic clips). You will then see the cable for the console light running from the base of the console to the top.
You need to twist the base of the light socket to remove it that enters the housing which goes into the centre console. Use some epoxy to re-attach the piece that broke of. Once dry then inset the light housing from the inside of the console back into its spot then put the light socket back and twist to lock in place. Re-attached the piece housing the rear AC/heat vents.
