Anyone have this problem with their vehicle when it was out of warranty? Have extended bumper to bumper warranty but wouldn't you know it's one of the things not covered. Needs a new column they said. So has anyone replaced theirs and what was the damage? Would do it myself but looks like c*nt

 

Just for clarification steering wheel clicking is the symptom and the issues is with the steering column. Which is NOT covered by Acura Care extended warranty?

 

Yup, they would have to replace the whole column which in the contract is not covered by extended warranty. I'll have to look at my paperwork when I get home and confirm.

 

Good to know, my 3G had rack & pinion problems that also weren't covered under warranty.

 

So before dropping 2k on extended warranty it would be advisable to read over the fine print but who does that?

 

No idea if it's the same issue but we developed a clicking noise in the steering column of our MDX. She we brought it in we were told the universal joint in the column was binding. It was covered under the extended warranty but the paperwork said it was an adjustment to the joint. Again may not be the same thing but might be worth looking into or investigating.
