Brake noise
Brake noise
Hello all i have a 2012 TL, having some weird noise coming from front left brake. At slow speeds when parking or light press on brakes coming to a stop. Had new pads put on and rotors resurfaced, problem went away for about a month and now its back. Noise when at low speeds like parking sounds like an old winey door with no grease closing. And when driving coming to a stop theres a screeching type noise as if rotors were to be worped. I wonder if the problem is more on the caliper sticking or what, since i had the rotors resurfaced twice now all new pads and handbrake pads as well, any body have any leads i would appreciate the input. Thanks in advance ladies and gents

Update on braking noise. So apparently it was not due to brakes or caliper related. Noise was coming due to a bad wheel bearing hub making the rotor wobble. I lifted the car with no wheels and pUt the car in drive while i looked at the rotors. Left side was wobbling noticably while the right side was not. Swcithed rotors to opposite side just to rule out the rotors for the 3rd time since i had theM resurfaced twice before thinking it was that. However when the rotors were switched spots the wobble was still on the left side. NOW THIS BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT PROBLEM, THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET WHEEL HUBS BEEING PRODUCED. Not even rock auto has the right one. ONLY OEM WItCH MAKES THEM NOT ONLY EXPINSIVE BUT HARD TO GET SINCE THERE IS A SUPPLIER SHORTAGE OF THIS PART ASWELL. I LOOKED ALL OVER MEXICO IN EVERY SINGLE PARTS STORE AND NO ONE HAS IT. AT THE SAME TIME IF I DO SOME HOW ABLE TO GET ONE. I AM NOT TRYING TO PAY OVER 400 DOLLARS WITH ALL THE SHIPPING AND IMPORT FEES. Trying to find one out of a yunk yard, but tls are not really out here in yunk yards, so hopefully i can somehow find one in a yunk yard or somebody parting out a tl. For the mean time i took the wheel bearing hub to a machine shop and asked them to check how bad it was. They said it wasnt really bent, but the base to where the bearing sits had chissel marking from when they had previously changed out that bearing (twice in 5 years) ended up machining that part out making it nice and smooth making the wobble go away. Only problem im not to comfortable with is that the rotor now sits closer to the shield making it grind. Wich i just bent a little to temporarily fix the problem. Im still on a mission to find this non existing hard to find wheel bearing hub.

Here is an example if interested?
It appears 44600-TK4-A00; Hub Assembly, Front can be used on either side; therefore, if the right passenger side assembly is only available, a hub from that side should work on your driver side.

Good Luck!
