Blown Subwoofer

Hello all,

I am having a little problem with my car and would appreciate any input that any one can provide.

I feel like the car doesn't have the same amount of bass as it use to. When I adjust the subwoofer settings in the car the amount of base doesn't feel like it changes at all. I am starting to wonder is my woofer is blown? When I adjust the bass setting I can hear some bass but I think those are from the other speakers and not the woofer itself.

Is there a way I can test if the sub is working before taking the car to the dealer

Thanks guys

It should be evident when you go from all the way from min to max if the subwoofer is working or not. Go into the back seat and get close to the speaker when your testing it. If you can't notice any difference on a couple of songs that would normally have bass its definitely blown.

The other speakers will have some bass so you may only be hearing that right now.

If your off the new car warranty I would get something aftermarket to put in there, don't put the overpriced junk Acura speaker replacement.

is it possible to just drop a new sub in there? Im getting tons of different info from the threads I found while searching this. I think mine is blown too, would love to know of any brands of subs people have dropped in to use with the factory setup.

My fault, I'm in a 3rd gen and I'm seeing now that op is talking about a 4th gen? Saw the TL-S in his sig, thought it was 3rd gen...
