Alarm randomly going off by itself?

Okay, so this has become a big problem in my neighborhood to the point where cops had to be called because some of my neighbor's are complaining it's not letting them sleep. So randomly throughout the day the cars alarm would just go off. Nobody is tampering with the car or touching it. I even waited around it to see if somebody was fucking with it but nope. I can't figure out what's wrong with it and I have to leave my hood open to keep the alarm from engaging. Anybody have any thoughts or know what's going on?

Probably a bad door switch. The button on the pillar that gies in when you close your door is not working. It probably thinks its open and sets off the alarm.

Just a quick update it went off again even with the alarm not engaged. I've realized it's locking and unlocking itself so that's another problem too. So I just disconnected the battery to keep it quiet until I can get it to a dealer.

The locking and unlocking is what's causing the alarm to go off. When the car unlocks itself with the alarm on, the alarm will go off thinking someone reached in and unlocked the door without using the key or fob. When you fix the unlocking by itself, you will fix the alarm problem too.

I don't know if this is the case here but it did happen a while back on some Accords... when the key fob battery goes almost dead, when you use it to lock or unlock somehow it only transmits half the code (excuse the simplistic technical description). So the alarm thinks its being violated... You may want to get fresh batteries in the key fob and see if it still does it. Of course this is easier said than done since the neighbors are complaining - lol.

Sorry no update as of yet planning on going to the dealer before the end of the month, since my dealer closed down I haven't decided which dealer to go to next.

Where do you keep your key fob when you're not driving the car? I used to keep mine in the cup of loose change we had by the front door, and found that either it bouncing around with coins, or the interaction of metals, would cause my car would randomly lock and unlock. Hanging the key on it's own hook solved the problem.

Not entirely helpful, but figured i'd pitch it

The same thing has been happening to me lately. I do believe I need new batteries on my '10's key fob and hope that'll fix the issue based on what Tonyware said.

When I first purchased my 2012 Acura I had the same problem with the alarm going off randomly. Especially during rain storms. It turned out to be caused by the rear spoiler was not sealed properly, so it allowed water to secrete into the wires, which in turn caused the issue. So, I took my car into Acura and explained how I was embarrassed for myself and Acura to be driving a brand new car and having to run out to shut the alarm off daily. Needless to say, they gave me a loaner, for two days and when I picked my car up the problem was solved.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the alarm is connected to the car's horn? Why not just pull the fuse for the horn so you don't have to disconnect the battery every time?

I actually fixed the problem by disconnecting the battery for about a week and haven't heard it go off since. I'll check out the rear spoiler problem though.

I had this problem in my 09 TL. Woke up neighbours at 3am, then few nights after again.
I still had the TL under warranty, took it to the dealer - door switch replaced. I actually found it out myself when driving - sudden alarm on the dashboard that the rear pass door is opened.

had a similar problem on my Accord randomly when it was warm/rainy... clearly some electrical issue, just couldn't t figure it out...so I just sold the car and got this TL.

I replaced a door switch I suspected was faulty, and that didn't do shit either. Tried various key fob things as well. Inconclusive.
