Question 2010 TL Transmission problem.. Plz Help.

Hi All,
I bought off lease 2010 Acura TL in SEP 2013 with 64k , I hardly drive in 2013 & 2014 approx. 10k mostly weekend drive and few long trip no more than 200km. Since Jan 2015 I start using my car for daily commute. 2015 winter was one of the worst in last 10 years extreme cold -15 to -20 through-out Jan to March. during winter morning (specially Temp. below -15 or more ) when I shift from revers to driver I feel jerk like manual transmission, takes 1 to 2 sec to engage drive and it jerk no matter how hard I hold on brakes. Sometime also feel my car shake when downshift or upshift between gears 2-4 but that’s very rear not all the time (once or twice in 20km slow drive). Now in summer time I don’t feel that heavy jerk in morning but feel bit of jerk I don’t know it’s normal or not? I never had this feeling with my old 2006 TL I know every car drive different regardless of make and model.
Yesterday I went to “Acura North” to have them check, but before they start any diagnostics rep told me that they don’t have any service records of my car since it’s from different dealership you may want to check with them (Acura 2000). Acura 2000 asks for $125 for diagnostics since my car is out of warranty but still has power train warranty expiring on 26 Jun 2015.
Questions.
Is it worth to pay $125 for just diagnostics or I can change transmission fluid in that price and problem will resolve?
Is there any transmission recall on 2010 TL?

Is it possible to do transmission check with ODBC reader?

With 64K on the car, you're probably overdue for a fluid change. The fluid should be pinkish red on the dipstick when you check it. You'll drain about 3.5 quarts of Acura DW-1 trans fluid and have to put the same amount in.

Changing the fluid makes a huge difference in the smoothness of the trans, but the delay you are getting makes me a bit worried. I'm not sure if the 2010 TL had an external trans filter but you might want to change that as well.

The torque converter is also a common failure point, I'd ask another dealership to figure it out under the powertrain warranty. Numerous software updates were issued to to help the 2009-2012 TL shift better.

Thanks for replay, FYI I bought this on 64K off-lease it had all service done by previous owner. and I did four B12 service I never had light for other then B12 so that I assumed nothing over due other then B12.

coming Saturday got appointment to original dealership form where it leased, and will find out about transmission fluid had been change or not. on stick fluid looks pink.

my point is, do I need to pay for diagnostics since its cove under power-train warranty?

The diagnostic fee is a 2-sided coin. In all honesty a good dealership wouldn't charge it but most dealerships are in the business of making money. If the problem is covered by the power-train warranty, Acura will refund you the fee. However if they find nothing wrong with the car you'll have spent it for nothing.

If you change the fluid first, you are removing the possibility of them suggesting that action after paying the diagnostic fee so they literally get paid to tell you to pay to do something else.

Read up on a few of the bad torque converter threads here and see if your car exhibits any symptoms. Also there is a TSB for a software update relating to vehicle shifting. If you can find it, bring it with you and have them perform it.

This is the AWD car TSB: Click here: https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...s-tsbs-701767/
follow the instructions in red
then select 12-029
