I went to get my transmission fluid and oil changed today and the place where I went would not change the transmission fluid saying I should not do it on my vehicle. I had not heard this before and wanted to check with others. I have 38k on the vehicle right now and thought it was something I do around 36k. Thanks for your insights.

I did mine at 40k with redline full synthetic. Measure what comes out and put the same amount back in. You should do it three times to ensure you got all the fluid out. Search for other post on the 3x3 method.

 

Are you referring to a transmission flush or a drain and refill? I'd recommend a drain and refill. A transmission flush tends to do more harm than good especially in higher mileage vehicles. Whoever told you to not change your transmission fluid is either an idiot or a crook. Do yourself a favor and find a better shop.

 

Don't change you transmission fluid???? First time I've ever heard that. Don't walk, run to a different shop....
