14' TL SH-AWD Tech Pulls to right
As per one of the Acura Customer Service people today (3/16/17) there is a Tech Sheet on TL's that pull to the right on flat straight roads even when the alignment is in spec. I have this problem with mine. Has anyone else experienced this? What was the fix? Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this issue.

My 2012 SHAWD pulls right slightly after an alignment and new Michelin Pilot AS3 installed. It's a 56K. The cross camber on the alignment sheet is right on the bother line, but I had thought the camber cannot be adjusted. This bulletin seems to indicate otherwise, but gives dealer specific instruction how to do it. Tell me how it goes after the recall. Did the dealer give you a hard time when you described the issue?

Dealer completed the recall. Minimized the problem though not solved. They say it must be the tires (New General G-max) and suggested that it may have to do with the fact that they are directional tires. My problem with that has to do with the fact that as a rule, directional tires have a tendency of improving the tracking due to the arrowhead design. Previous experience with directionals was essentially bullet-train stability particularly in low traction situations. I am understandably hesitant to pay $1000-$1500 for new tires that MIGHT solve the problem. I suspect that there is something in the steering geometry that causes this as the same tires on other vehicles do not exhibit the issue.

Playing Phone-tag with Acura consumer relations person now. She is never available to take a call when I call. Will keep you folks posted.

Talked to the guy at Tire Rack about Acura's claim that it is the fault of directional tires. He politely said that this is Bullshit. Additionally, the customer service person from General Tire/Continental was not pleased about Acura's theory. If anyone else has this problem, make some noise and raise some hell. As near as I can figure, there is something hypersensitive in the front end steering geometry causing this. Also, while some people from Acura are SAYING that directional tyres are the problem, it is NOWHERE IN WRITING. I believe that I will contact all the manufacturers of directional tires and make them aware of the issue so they can get involved.
