100k service: What should I do?
I got the A02 service error thing. So mechanic I trust and know says I need the 100k service which I guess includes a timing belt. While I'm taking it in to spend $1000, what else should I do? I have no major issues, but I got it used so I'm not sure what service has been done other than oil changes. Just want to do everything I can to keep this until 200k or more.

Hold on just a moment! The MID will tell you when it's due for the timing belt service. A2 is new oil and filter and change cabin filters. Wait till it gives you the code for the timing belt service. When you get the light for that you should do the following and it'll go to 200K without any issues motor wise:
Timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, spark plug tube seals, valve cover gasket, new tensioners (accessory and timing), new accessory belt. Front main seal while you have the timing cover off. Check oil pan/pump for leaks and reseal while the whole thing is apart. Do a valve adjustment as well! It's about 20mins/cyl x 6 so about 2 hours of labor. Wouldn't hurt to also use some sea-foam though the intake manifold before you change the plugs and adjust the timing for max benefit.
Parts are going to be a little more than your typical 105K service but it's worth it.
Also you might want to start saving for new shocks, I'm pretty much ready to buy a new set once a sale comes up and I'm at 115K right now.
