'09 & UP TL How's The Transmission Holding up?

Hey everyone I was just wondering who out there in the community has the 4th Gen 09 TL and up with a considerable amount of miles on it and how the tranny is holding up? I know that the older models are synonymous with the infamous "transmission problem" and didn't know if anyone experienced it with the 4th gen. I have a 09 Base TL w/ 65,000 miles and no probs so far I feel sometimes it shifts a bit ruff when down shifting but maybe it's just me. Let me know the communities thoughts on this.

i have a 2010 SHAWD and have been to the dealer at least twice regarding a low rpm shimmy. Their solution is to upload new software to the TCM. Only have 38000 miles but, geez, I drive the car five minutes and feel the problem. Why cant they duplicate it and fix it?

Almost all tranny problems on the 4G TL are to do with vibrations and shift quality, and are nothing even remotely close to the catastrophic failures as with the 2G TL/CL.

Yeah I was told that the tranny problem was fixed a long time ago and was no longer an issue I was just curious as to how the high mileage - long term use 4th gens were doing. Thanks for the input though. I have always loved Acura and wasn't even aware of the tranny problem until I purchased one.

I don't know much about the deep technical aspects of vehicles just the meat and potatoes if you will but talking about shimmy's at low RPMs and such sound like it doesn't have good strong motor mounts or something. I have no shimmy or vibration from my standard AT ALL. It's a bit ruff with old tires but with new ones it's smooth as glass. Thanks for the input...

I have a 2010 SH-AWD and have had the recall done for the issue that cause the low RPM growling sound. Like some of the other posters have said, even after the software update was done, I drive the car for a 20 minute drive and it's doing it again. 55300 miles and no shifting problems yet.

Interesting.. but nothing compared to the G37's i've been shopping. There are pages of issues regarding transmission lurches and searching for gears.

I've been going back and forth between the TL and G.

Just want a nice reliable ride..
