Changed serpentine belt. No change. Tensioner seems very taunt, pullies seem to turn fine and aren't loose. Have noticed a weird smell inside the car occasionally. Not a sweet smell like antifreeze. More of a chemical smell. Frustrated. First Acura owned. Any advice or where else to check next or anyone who's experienced the same issues, please connect w me.

 

The issues I've had in the past were the belt was jumping track, at random given times, causing intermittent squealing and squeaks. I was made aware of this after I already installed a new alternator and pulley. Tensioner went bad even though it appeared to be holding the belt tight enough.

 

if you had started up the car without the belt; that could have been a clue if the tensioner is/was the suspect

 

Could always use a little belt dressing spray on the belts, anti squeal, and see if it goes away. If it does, you know something isnt right with the belt.
