'09 Tech stereo w/intermittent sound

Have any of you had issues with the sound going in and out. It doesn't matter if it's radio/XM/USB or CD. You can be listening to it and the sound randomly cuts in and out. The display is still on and everything appears to be playing correctly, just without sound. The car is completely stock.

This doesn't sound like a fuse issue does it? Lose wire? Amp going out? And of course, everytime it's at the dealership, it doesn't do it.

Any ideas? Anyone else have this problem?

There is a TSB on this but it only refers to the XM part of the radio. Does it go away by itself? Or do you need to "reboot" the car to resolve? Rebooting is needed as per the TSB. Look in the sticky section to read the actual TSB.

No, it goes in and out by itself. And it's all sources of music. I was hoping there would be a TSB, but this sounds different.

Does the sound reduce when you are slowing down and get louder as you accelerate. if so, there is a sound setting in the SOUND settings that you need to turn off, if you don't like it.

No, it's not that. The sound completely goes away.

Have you ever had it looked at? What did they say? I see that yours in a 2010. This is a 2009 that I'm referring to. May not be specific to early build cars.

I'm dropping my car next week, don't even know how to explain it to them. Cuz it only happens after a long driving

Any update on how the dealer handled it? My car has this exact same problem.

Well, the last time I had the car in for normal service, I mentioned this to them and even printed out the TSB that clearly describes my condition. The advisor said they could not reproduce it.

Of course not! I can't either, it's friggin' random occurance!!!!!

It's going in again tomorrow for some rattle issue so the advisor said they will look at it closer again since they are keeping the car for a week this time instead of the quickie oil change and tire rotation last time.

They said they couldn't replace the drop out problem. Of course not, I couldn't either - duh! But, since my call falls into the TSB, they replaced the XM module as per.

Of course it'll be hard to test if it worked since the drop out happens randomly and only about 3-5 times in the year of ownership that I have.

Had exactly the same problem in my 08 TL.
Finally took it apart and found 0.38 cents in change in the tape deck.

Funny thing I come across this, I'm having this very same issue with a car at work also... Lol, except it's a 2012 odyssey, I guess older models had an amplifier issue. Something with the capacitors not holding fully.
