WDP 2010 TL AWD-SH Tech

Hey guys. Just went from an 06 TL, to this baby. Gotta say, it's exceeded my expectations so far. I didnt see an official WDP thread, so here goes. See link at the end of pg for more pics =) enjoy!

2010 Acura TL AWD-SH Tech by TYKM Photography

Note: these pics were taken the day we picked up the car. Thought i'd take shots of it factory phresh, before any rain/dirt/dust or even a first wash (yes, i realize the dealer washed it once already).

Click the link! i have 2 interior shots of the seats =) iirc, Umber only came in AWD-SH trim. At least it does in Canada, not sure how it is down south. Acura likes to dick us around with colour schemes like that. For the 3rd gen TL, the US had more colour choices than us Canuks. Not sure how the 4g's are.

thanks guys. It's my dad's car, but i'll be driving it regularly when i dont feel like driving my own car. I'll also likely be doing most of the maintenance on it as well. I was quite shocked at how much better it performed than the 06 TL.

yea, you can only get the umber in the sh-awd here, and it only came on the black, white, or mayan(sp) cars....like i said, i would have gotten the wdp/umber if they had one on the lot, i test drove one in stl, but ended up buying my car in dallas...

Thanks. After driving it for a few months, i've grown to like the car even more! Handling is amazing, especially in snow. With a good set of snow tires, the thing just grips and grips!! only downside, is you cant turn off the SH, and lock the ratios. If you turn off stability, you oversteer like crazy, and it's super hard to control because SH still kicks in.

Me and my friends hated the front for the longest time. I was just talking to a friend today, and we both admit that the front has "grown" on us a bit, and we're not less disgusted when we see it. HAHA, we dont love it, but it's not as bad as before!

^^ thanks your TL looks really nice. looks liek what i'd do if i had black.
modding plans... that's a loaded question. haha
will always have "plans", but will never have enough $$$. haha

this car was my dad's. He passed away last month after a 16 month battle with cancer, at the young age of 53. It's a lease, so we decided to take over the lease, because this was his last purchase. He loved this car so much, picked all the trim and colours himself. So we're going to keep it to remember him by.

With that being said, if i do get the $$ to do up this car, i'd prob start with light tints (dad never liked dark tints), and maybe tint the rear bumper reflectors. They just stand out wayy too much stock.

Sincerest condolences for your loss. The car is beautiful. I have WDP/Ebony/Tech and love it more each day. I've even "embraced" the beak which did have to grow on me. Keep us posted on future mods and ownership experience.

My car turned 3 a few days ago. So I'm bumping this with some "birthday pics".

A lot has changed since the start of this thread. Not so much with the car, but that's fine for now.

Here's some shots

Thanks guys. She a DD, but up until last November, I barely had 20k km on her because i worked 4 mins away from home. Now that i work 50km away, she's going to hit 60k km soon

I'm fairly anal with my car being clean, inside and out. I always have friend's who i don't see often, ask me if i bought a new car. haha I need a few more coats of wax before winter time....

I'm also tempted to pickup my friend's 3g as an all weather beater (awd in snow is a no brainer for me), but we'll see.

Thanks, I want to redo that interior shot with a 2nd person so they can drive and i can take the shot. I actually took this by myself. The car just needed to roll as the shutter speed was quite slow, and it was also 11:30pm in an empty lot.

So, it's been a few years since I've updated the car, and this thread.
I've finally got around to getting some cosmetic features done on the TL. So I went and took some updates pics.
She's in the high mileage range already, but still love how she drives and handles. Now, I LOVE how she looks too. I also added a roof spoiler, and dual colour fogs. I'll post those pics later.

Sharp-looking car. Pics are strong, too!

New guy with a few questions about some of your exterior mods:

Is the beak painted or wrapped? Did you do the rear piece, as well?

I noticed the fog light bezels were done - painted or wrapped? Matte finish instead of glossy? What did you do to the rear reflectors?

Which roof spoiler did you purchase?

Okay, so I had more than a few questions. My apologies for the interrogation.

Thanks! and welcome to AZ! I'd be happy to answer your questions.

Beak/Shield is painted. It's not a perfect match because that's nearly impossible with the pearl, and fading etc. The paint on the body is original; approaching 8 years, and 200k km.
Rear trunk trim piece was also body matched (paint). I was on the fence about it, because i didnt mind the silver, but i figured i'd get it body matched and if i really didnt like it, i could wrap it matte silver later on. So far, i'm digging the cleaner body matched colour.

Fog housing was also painted. I was going to just plastidip it, but since I had my front bumper resprayed anyways, I just asked my body shop to paint it black to match the black plastic. It looks slightly semi gloss to me. I think it made the front look much more aggressive. I think Matte or Semi gloss would both look pretty clean. I wouldn't do glossy on that, personally.

Rear reflectors are stock for now. I want to smoke them out a bit. Haven't figured out what to use. I may try plastidip, since it's easily reversible. We'll see.

Roof spoiler, i just got one off ebay when they had their 15% off code. There's a few styles, just give it a search on ebay to see what you like. Paid around $50CAD with the sale price, but had to pay $45 for customs and duties.... That's pretty much in line with what others paid too.
