Some say springs because they are cheaper & coil-overs tend to squeak through time.

Others say coil-overs because they give a better ride while being dropped & are adjustable.

Some say springs change the ride quality very little if you get a good set which i think i did since i have the front wheel drive TL.

Others mainly want coil-overs to slam the car and still maintain a comfortable ride. I def have no intentions on slamming my car i am only doing a moderate drop because i will not be doing 20's.

Some say 19's some say 20's others say no more than 18's.

Only thing i can do is try and see what works for me.

because when shopping for the springs i was told by many vendors that they don't carry the H&R springs for FWD they would have to be ordered and possibly take any where from 3 weeks + which would be fine if i was waiting until next year to put them in. But i am supposed to be putting the car in the shop next week to get a couple of things done.

But you are good most of the vendors have the H&R springs in stock for the AWD TL

I have a FWD also and tried to get H&R springs and no one could get them. So I called H&R directly and they told me the springs for the FWD are still in R&D and have not been released yet and I should try back in a few months. I decided to go with H-Techs also. I am going to have them installed Monday.

Thanks.

It's simple.....If you're happy with the ride quality of your TL, the just go for the springs. If you want a drop AND improve the stiffness of your ride, then coilovers are what you want.

I was happy with the ride of my car-plus, I didn't want to spend the type of money that you'll spend with coilovers ~$1,000+. For $245, the springs worked perfect!

Car looks great, please don't tell me they painted the trim on the car?

Anyways I like all the compliments, don't care for the RJ emblem on the fender, do you like it?

Yes!!! I have been dying to see the satin black legends on a 4G with the machined lip. You sir have impeccable taste!

You must have picked up one of the last few RJ Grille's also right? I didn't thing Rondy was making them anymore.

I actually will be doing some more to the car with the lights to get it to blend a little more better

The funny thing with these wheels was i didn't like the legends at all especially after having the legend II's with the lip already i wasn't to sure aout them without the lip , but when i seen these specifically it was a no brainer.

Yes i did get the last one if i am not mistaken.

Tanks for all the coments guys there is def more to come with the car. I am not done yet .

For the front grille. I noticed the RJ grille doesnt have the black trim below the top of the grille where the grille meets the hood. When I made my grille, i made sure this part of the grille was flush so you couldnt see through, just curious, can you see through because there is no black trim that meets up to the grille?

The weather stripping was reused, and I took pics of the OEM grille with uneven gaps and our grille, and our grille was even all throughout, the installer even use a tool to measure the gap and make minor adjustments.

BTW, the mesh has a funky reflection in it because they put the mesh in wrong side out, the other side is matte and doesn't have those weird waves going though it. When you bring your car back to them for whatever else, they will take care of it, it will look 100% better too that way.

I created the part in gray (primer). This piece eventually got painted black and meets up to the underside of the top portion of the grille. The weather stripping butts up aganist this black piece to make a seamless finish, not allowing to see down into the bumper area.

Unfortunately the only update is a bad one for now

I was on my way home the same day i got the car out the shop. A lot later then when i got the car out the shop. I was doing 50 in a 50 and came over a slight hill to see a cone laid down on it's side yes in the middle of the road as if it fell off a truck or somebody knocked it over and this was the result.

Yes they had to replace the bumper so i just had them do the SH-AWD set up bumper. Believe it or not i didn't do it to look like i have the SH-AWD i did it because the price difference was minor. Plus i want more black on the car.

My next MOD is going to be to Matte black out the trims & throw on the exhaust then i'm done for a while. Those mod's will be coming once it starts getting warm again.
