Mike-

What head unit are you using or going to use with the the setup?

Nick

PS-very nice looking ride; in my opinion it's not over done, but very tasteful.

My first choice will be an Alpine 7996; plays DVD and has optical.

Next will be a Pioneer P99RS.

Double Din's look nice, but no one makes a good SQ unit.

Old school decks are still the best.

HAT Legatia L4 se and L1 pro R2.

Sound Quality.

I still love the green chiclet buttons on an Alpine! I give them credit, they've evolved over the past 25-30 years, but the green chiclet buttons have stayed.

Can't wait to see when it's all done. Very envious

Alpine quit evolving after 2003 IMO. Their decks are crap now as are most. SQ is not a big concern to folks nowadays; everyone plays iPod and could care less about SQ.

Car will be done on Sunday. I will take better pics and post a vid if possible, bud.

That's because Jensen bought them out around then (so I was told)...if it isn't an older alpine head unit, most likely it's junk.

Not sure...but the only high quality deck out today is the Pioneer P99. Has a built in DSP and you can run it active. Copper chasis too!

looks like it produces great sound quality...especially with the copper chasis. If price reflects quality, this DIN is a "top dawg"..."$1200!

Quick question for you Mike, how much did the interior noise of the cabin reduce after installing Dynamat in the entire car? not sure if you used a db meter or not, just curious about your results.

Excellent question. I just picked the car up today and it is the quietest car I have ever been in. The car is so quiet I can hear the fans in the trunk. And those things are quiet.

Also, the doors and trunk close nicely. They feel better with the "dynamat".

Nice, especially the audio overhaul.

Where did you go to get your AWD fog light/bezel assembly?

Awesome. How much did the parts come out pre-shipping? I looked around on Acuraoemparts.com but just wasn't sure exactly how many parts I'd be replacing if I do the swap from the FWD pieces.

LOL at Acura of Peoria. That place is a joke. I guess it's not a big deal if you're just ordering parts but DO NOT BUY A CAR THERE!!! I had nothing but problems with them throughout the entire process. I've read a lot of similar stories too so I know I'm not the only one.

Don't know about cars, man. I got the bodykit and a few parts there cheaper than anywhere else with dirt cheap shipping.

If anyone is interested, I got a mint PMM rear roof spoiler. FREE.

Causes a very very slight rattle that bugs the shit out of me when I got the bass all the way up.

Just come get it.

Man I miss my SQ days... back when you could get a deck with 8v preout's, I haven't had a real system in any of my rides in years... I do miss it from time to time but I will tell you I've regained some of my hearing now that I'm in my late 30's and not having had any big systems in a while... but I still lack some frequency's I just can't hear anymore... Glassin in kick panels is the only way to go to get the right stage up front... Good lookin install... you still having heat issues with the amps? adding the Plexi over them will actually drop your temps if you put one fan pushing and one pulling on each side under the glass is creates a tunnel to dissipate the heat rather than loosing your air flow to the open area... plus it'll bring the tops of the amps dawn under the facial board so they get more flow...
