Pimpin-TL -- 2012 TL SH-AWD Build thread

Figured it was time to start a build thread since I am now starting to do stuff to my TL.

I purchased my TL back in May of 2012 and it has been a solid reliable car. It now currently on 03/09/2013 has 7000 miles and soon to go in for it's first service.

When I first got it, I got it tinted with 30% front, and 20% back with a Huber Optic tint and tinted the front windshield with clear film to protect from UV.

The next thing I got was the Body Kit and installed it myself.

Got HIDExtra fogs 6k and headlights 6k. And VLEDs DRL's in 5k.

Since then I haven't done much till now.

I ordered TEIN SS Suspension with EDFC which are here, IGNALLS 2 Piece camber kit for the rear which will be going on the 23rd of this month.

I also started today to BLACK out all the chrome with vinyl I got in. I will no doubt take pictures of that once completed.

On with the pictures and progress.

Getting that painted with grill to match car. Just haven't felt like removing the bumper to pull it off yet.

TEIN SS w/EDFC installed today. Also 20mm and 25mm spacers. Also Ingalls Toe and Camber rear kit. On for the pics...these were taken during the install and after the install. Inside garage ones were during before we adjusted the coils. Alignment will be done tomorrow.

Thanks Lawn and vtec. Not sure what you are talking about Vtec?

More pics from alignment today.

And how much the car was actually off before getting it done. We eyed the Camber in the rear and damn we got it on perfect.

Not even close. It should easily go much lower if needed.

Nice tasteful drop. It's perfect. How much did you drop it if you don't mind me asking? And the spacers really enhanced the stance even further! Also, can you take a side shot of the entire car?

It looks nice pimpin, I like it. I'd have waited at least a week for the coils to settle before getting the alignment.

I have lifetime alignment. . So I can take it back anytime. At least now it drives good. I am considering dropping the back a little more.

Did you have any issues with the screw tab in the rear where the fender and bumper attach hitting the tires? I may be having issues with that since I already had my lip on the fenders moved out of the way.

Not sure what it was stock but we dropped it a lot actually.

I have some on my regular camera I will get online within the next few days.

Pimpin, in the lower right hand corner of each post, the middle icon is a Multi-
Quote button. This allows you to respond to more than one person in a single reply. It will look like the Merged Posts above.

Be sure to give it a try-it's much simpler!

Love the stance. Where did you get the spacers from? Were they hard to install?

I am old fashioned....use to the old way. Heheh. Will try to remember to use that from now on. Thank you.

I actually got them slightly used off Zelaya. He got them from that spacer company he has recommended which I do not have the name on me right now.

from the picture your drop is about one finger gap which is how I have mine however I didn't have any issues until now that I've bigger wheels. I shaved over the weekend the rear bracket that holds the bumper and I may need to remove the original bolt and relocate it to hold the bumper and both side.

Hi Nakacura, hope pimpin won't mind me posting the link below but I got the wheel adapters from Motorsport tech which their craftmanship and customer service is the best. It took me about 3 weeks to get them.

Yea, I am definitely hitting that on both sides. Not sure why you didn't and I am. I will have to figure out how I can shave that clip and keep the bumper from coming loose. Maybe move the screw as far back with a new hole, and then hammer up the metal or something in that area away from the tire.

Maybe because you're lowered than me. I had mine one finger gap all around and normally my daughter is the only one seat on the back, and she only weight about 92 pounds. I'm shaving the rear bracket more this Saturday and repainting my rolled fenders on both sides. If you do yours first take pictures and keep us posted.

Probably won't have time to do mine till the weekend also. Just have to be careful to not hit any major bumps. Take some pics of yours and let us know what you do if you do it.
