Finally got the drop - '09 SH AWD on OEM 18's

Dropped with TEIN Street Basis. I still need to do the alignment, but it is not in bad shape at all.

It is lower than I had requested my mechanic drop it, but he took it upon himself to make it lower because he didn't like the stance where I suggested it be. It doesn't rub and there are no issues with anything, but I don't care for the tire tuck with the 18s.

Before

After - car is dirty - stormed all weekend.

Looks good. How does it ride compared to stock?

Thanks. Not bad. No rubbing or anything at this point. It seems a bit softer than stock, but I haven't hit any hard corners or anything yet. I'm going out looking for some of that this evening.

Thanks. Probably going to raise it a bit. Just too low. Have scraped over speed bumps, etc., already.

I totally agree, these TEINs ride softer than stock even with dampening set to 00/00.

All you need now to take your car to the next level is spacers so the stocks don't tuck and some TLC for your rotors/calipers. A thorough cleaning with a wire brush, brake cleaner and a few coats of temp paint.

Agree on all fronts. I chatted with Justin at Excelerate and he said if I lift it a bit, it will correct some of the bounce I'm feeling now. I will have to lift it to put spacers on it, and it is just too damn low for me. I like the look and feel, but don't want to have to drive it too gingerly all the time.

I lifted it a bit this weekend and finally got the opportunity to get it cleaned up. This may be the best cell phone pic I've ever taken. The light was just right in the hotel garage, though.

I like the adjusted drop from your new pic, looks good. Wheel spacers would be awesome for the 18's.

Thanks, Steven.

I am also considering spacers. I've heard horror stories though.

I've been lowered on Tein SA and rolling with 20/25 spacers on my OEM 18's since March of this year with no issues if that gives you a little more confidence about the spacers.

Like C8N aside, I do have Motorsport Tech spacers. I bought my second hand from another member.

Yeah. I just priced them. $380 is pretty steep. Better get the timing belt first.

Do you have any pics with the spacers on?

Thanks for the info. As soon as I get the timing belt done, that will be my next move.

Hey Hogan, i have a set of brand new, never mounted Motorsport Tech spacers for sale. They are 23 mm, which guarantees no rubbing or fitmen issues. There are pictures on black market under parts for sale. Just enter "wheel spacers" in the key word box and select 4 G TL.
