Drew's 2010 TL Build Thread.....

Hey Guys...I've been on the thread since the summer when I bought my 2010 Grigio FWD/Tech TL. Ive been piecing my mods together over the winter before I finally install them. So hopefully in the next month I will have all the mods I have bought installed...And of course pics as I go along. Of course the first thing I had done was 20% tints and 50% tint on the windshield.

Hopefully I can get these photobucket links to show....

I use the sea sucker bike rack for my mountainbike and road bike.

Hopefully in the next month or two I will have rims, coilovers, j-pipe, and stainless steel brake lines installed. And then maybe minor things as I go along such as tinted tails, leds, and whatever else i can think of.
And yes just for the curiosity I am going to get dynoed before and after the jpipe install.
I've read the countless threads about people saying its pointless etc without a tune so save the comments cause im doing it for me and I want to see what it can produce with the just ecu relearning the system with the addition. Thanks.

Thanks. Im trying to make it look pretty decent and presentable. But no where near as hot as some of the other guys here.
I forgot to mention I have the Progress RSB on also...but I did that the first month I had the car too...lol. Ive just been sitting on mods all winter...

Hopefully I'll have my teins in another week or so...

Question for you guys...Should I just roll my fenders when I install the coils and get them out the way or do I wait until I put the rims on and then roll them?

it cant hurt to roll, even at stock height/stock rims.

if you do it now, you wont have to waste your time with it later when you do encounter rubbing!
not that you'll encounter rubbing with your research and skills anyway.

What are your wheel specs? And personally, I'd wait until tires and wheels are mounted then do a test fit after you drop to your desired height to see how much if any do you need to roll.

Ok cool...so just do it at once....kill two bird with one stone...and if more rolling needs to be done then so be it but I doubt it.

Doing well on the mods so far .

With those wheel specs you might as well go ahead and roll your fenders, you will need it anyways.

When I had those niches the plan was to roll fenders. Better off in my opinion. Specially if you're lowering.

Looks good Drew-keep going!

Hey, by the way-we have a multi-quote button here on AcuraZine. It's the middle icon in the lower right hand corner of each post. It allows you to respond to more than one person in a single reply (See Post 18).

Be sure to try it out.

Can't wait see what the gains might be with the J-pipe on a 4G. Is your TL an SH?

Good to know. Wish it was the AWD but at least someone hoped on the dyno. Ready to see the results as well.

nice!
looking forward for the dyno sheet print out, as it'll tell us a lot of things!

p.s. ~230whp is what a stock 07-08 type-s automatic makes!
you'll end up seeing similar gains to what we've seen on the 3G TL.
get that print out!!

Yeah, I just need to order tires and the wheel kit with lugs and hub rings, etc.

The shop still hasnt emailed it to me, I dont know whats taking the guy so long. I took a photo with my phone on the screen but its a blurry pic. I made 233WHP but no reading on the torque. I just got the J-pipe installed over the weekend. I'll probably go back again sometime next month for another dyno.

How much are they charging you for the baseline runs? You must of been really excited when you got the wheels in lol. You could of just removed the foam padding and cover without tearing it up. Car is coming along nicely though. Wheels will look really good with your drop. Looks like you're maxed on the coils if it's Teins.

They normally charge $85, but if there is a Dyno Meet they only charge $50 and thats when I had done it, so next dyno its going to cost me 85.
Yup on Teins but I still have plenty more I can go. My tech set it right up to where the spring has just enough tension on the shock. It looks like I have another inch and half from looking at the threads. Hopefully it will look good once the wheels get put on, I'm thinking I may have to raise it up just a little bit. I want the car to be flush just right and be sunken into the wheel wells...and still need to get the fenders rolled.
Well actually everyone has seen the wheels...I bought them from Grigio since he went with Vossens instead, and yeah I was impatient in opening the box...lol
