Dash indicator surface mount LEDs
Dash indicator surface mount LEDs
I went to go replace the Green and orange indicator lights in the dash and found out they're SMD LEDs, not like the 3G TLs through hole style LEDs.
My question is: Does anyone know what kind of LEDs I would need to buy to replace those with White/blue ones? I was told that installing the wrong ones, or installing them the wrong way could fry that board.
Heres a picture of the dome light housing. It has one green indicator light to indicate when you have the lights set to come on when the doors are open. It's not a good one, but thought it may help?

if it is not broken, dont fix it..
it may end up costing you hundreds if you fry it..
btw these are smd 3528 . you will have to find the individual pieces to re solder it on the the pcb board.

I hear ya, makes sense. I may try it on the cheapest switch on the dash, and report how things go, rather than try it out on the overhead/dome light board (I'm sure its expensive). Not sure when I'll be able to get to it, but I don't mind being the guinea pig.
