3M Carbon Fiber Di-Noc Vinyl Wrap
I was curious to how it looked compared to the dash trim kit I had. I completely took off the old kit as even though it looked good, I didn't like the idea of having "stickers" in my car. So I ordered a sample kit and bought a heat gun to apply this on. Here's how it came out, let me know what you think!
I only did the right AC vent so far and wanted to see if people thought it was okay before I continued on with it. I apparently am a fan of the aesthetics. I figured if I had to wait for performance parts to come out, I can stay busy with aesthetics while the wait is on.

I wish it was a carbon fiber replacement trim kit that was offered to the 3G TL. But no not at all...
It looks fine, but again..."sticker" aspect
Old stuff:

Seeing both, I think I prefer the vent piece. It doesn't look like a sticker in the way the center console piece does.
Did you have to custom cut the 3M material? If so, that a very nice job!

Well technically you can just custom cut it...but seeing how that's very hard..most people pretty much take a part whatever they want done and wrap it. With some spray adhesive and heat gun, it's pretty easy. Tad bit time consuming if it's your first time though. This one took me 1.5 hrs. Here's a link to a good tutorial.

The 3M Di-Noc wrap is very good high quality stuff. You should check out neffy wrap though..it is also a very good high quality material but people say this stuff is better for interior jobs where 3M is better for exterior.

it is very affordable and its getting alot of attention. You should look into it
Also, is this similar to how you did your install?

Okay, the question of the day is...
Can you cut this stuff before you use it?! For instance, I'd like to cover every plastic shroud piece in the engine bay, and I'd get a big sheet of it and would want to cut it all up to make the most of covering all the parts.
But I swear the website says you can't cut this stuff before you start adhering it on. By that time, you've already wasted like half of it to never be used again.
Was I reading that correctly?

Yes. You can feel the grain/texture even though it's vinyl. It doesn't feel cheap either.
