I recently decided to take the jump & get my windows tinted.
I had been contemplating it for a while due to IL police pulling over every car with tint. (legal or not)
I went to Custom Sprayz in Roselle, IL. (guys who did my vinyl)
I chose 35% tint (legal) on all windows/ rear glass.
The guys did a flawless job. They applied the tint perfectly.
They applied one piece perfectly to rear glass.

I did notice the tint looks much darker than 35%.
I was told this was due to the factory "UV Tint" in the glass.
Is there any truth to this?

it looks great!! It looks more so like 15% or 20%...my brother had 35% and it was much lighter than yours. maybe different brand of film "carbon" or not makes a difference. either way looks tits!

He is right. All newer cars come with a "tint" on the glass from the factory... so although you got 35% it will usually meter at 28-30%....

does look great tho!

came out nice. it looks like 25%. i have 15% and i a ot of people ask me if its 5% cause it looks a lot darker.

I agree with the others here who said it could be the slight tint of the factory glass that is probably making it look darker than 35%. But it could also be your interior color.

I have 35% with Taupe interior and when I compare it to cars with black interior and 35% they always appear darker than mine.

 

looks good. and every brand film will look different. my TL has 35% Llumar and my dads has 35% 3M and his is darker them mine.

 

It looks good-looks darker than 35%, but I like it.

 

I read somewhere that Acura factory glass is around 80-85%.
Therefore with 35% tint it's essentially 28-29% total.
My civic had 35%, my TL has 35%, andthe TL is most definitely darker.

 

Looks good. I also have a CBP with black interior. I didn't want something too dark (because cops can be jerks in L.A.) so I went with 50% 3M CS. It's pretty light but I like it...which is all that matters.

Looks sweet, I find depending on quality of film and type (dyed, metallic, ceramic) combined with Interior color makes some appear darker/lighter than expected or the 'sample' shows....either way, sweet looking ride, you'll appreciate more in the summer.
