Simple question...

Can I install at 2012 rear bumper cover on my 2012? Anyone do this?

Reason, I will be putting 4" Quad tips on, however I am not convinced they will look good with my 2014 rear...

Thoughts?

 

Your post is really confusing, you ask if you can put a 2012 bumper on a 2012 lol From what i gather you own a 2014 and want to know if a 2012 rear bumper will fit, the answer is yes because the 2012 and 2014 have the exact same rear bumper...maybe youre wondering if the 09-11 rear bumper cover will fit?

 

Last I heard there is no way a 2012 bumper would fit on a 2012... its just rumor though so dont trust the info. Lol. I think you meant 2009 on your 2014. I doubt it will fit...

 

I have 2012 with the new bumper and I have ATLP exhaust. I think it looks very good with the tips. Warning, regardles what they websites tell you, ATLP is not a direct fit for the 2012 and on, I had to take it to a muffler shop to have it fixed up.

I own a 2014, I was thinking about putting a 2012 bumper on my 2014...

however now seeing Sympley' picture... I maybe having second thoughts... Do you have a full rear shot?

 

2012 - 2014 have same bumper... unless you mean 09-11 bumper and 12-14 bumper.. then they are different but will fit.

All 4th gen tl' bumpers are interchangeable. The lips are not.

You will need to get a new rear trim piece and rear reflectors.

Let me clarify this:
all 09-11 parts (front & rear bumpers, headlights & taillights) will bolt to a 12-14 TL, and vise versa.
09-11 have silver headlight and taillight bezels
12-14 have black headlight bezels and red taillight bezels

To do a front bumper conversion you will need: bumper, lip (optional), fog lights, blinker lights, grille, fog light trims, plus misc hardware (maybe)

To do a rear bumper conversion you will need: bumper, lip (optional), reflectors, trim above bumper, plus misc hardware (maybe)

You could trade someone with an 09-11 bumper but the two whites are different colors.
09-11 is WDP (white diamond pearl)
12-14 is BWP (bellanova white pearl)

If you really want to do this mod with the lip I would just buy a new 09-11 rear bumper from Acura/Honda as they come unpainted and a new or used 09-11 rear lip as it will need to be painted no matter what. Then when/if you go to sell the car, you can swap your stock 12-14 bumper back on and sell the 09-11 BWP bumper separately to someone looking to do a similar mod.
