Throttle body spacer?
#2
Hi Rich, there currently isn't a throttle body spacer for the 09+ TL. There is a throttle body adapter which helps other models use the 3.7L TL Throttle Body. If there's enough interest we can definitely try to get something to market for you guys tho!

P2R makes a TB spacer for the 4G... I had the 3.7L one on my last SH-AWD TL, and i plan to use again... i also believe they make one for the 3.5L TB as well
good mod.. but you will not notice/feel the difference.. you just need to believe its there.. some people say they can tell, but would you notice a 2-4hp gain on your engine? really?

I did this setup on my 03 CLS-6. It was added along with pulleys, intake gaskets, clutch, flywheel, and a fresh motor rebuild - so I couldn't tell you about power gains. P2R uses it on their track cars, so I'd assume there's some merit there. I think the one for my S2000 had a tap on it for a nitrous nozzle - giving awesome placement and fitment.
What you have to remember with doing this, is you need two of those thermal gaskets, plus the spacer itself - so you're shoving everything on the intake toward the drivers side of the car about an inch and a half to two inches. This can cause fitment issues with aftermarket intakes (like making them hit the fender, or be right on top of the throttle body). Also is moving the MAP and TPS sensor 2 inches - so sometimes means stretching wires or removing them from a securing point. Coolant hoses as well. Surely someone's done the combo of the Takeda and the spacers by now, might be fine - but required a little more creative bending to get things to fit properly with an AEM CAI on my CL.
Who wants a rattly engine bay on a premium car. Keep it clean or don't be seen...
