ThermoBlok Spacer Installed with P2R Gaskets
I picked up the Outlaw Engineering ThermoBlok spacer kit for 04+ TL on the black market. It also comes with throttle body spacers which is useless to me as the 3.7L throttle body is different. The spacer is 1/4" thick which has 2 purposes, reduce heat transfer to intake plenum and increase intake runner length. Reducing the heat will help keep the air denser which will allow for more power. And by increasing the runner length you essentially shift the power band over, so that power, especially torque, comes on stronger at low end. Too long of a runner can cause a drop off in top end HP, but with this set up it's not the case. 1/4" spacer + 1/4" worth of P2R thermal gaskets adds about 1/2" of runner length.
Information on the internet, from Outlaw Engineering, independent users of these spacers, and 3G TL owners who have added nearly 2" to their runners have shown this to cause no loss in top end power. I felt it was safe to do this without compromising the power band.

The 3G TL thread with dyno on page 4 adding 2" of runner:

To further reduce heat transfer, I tossed the stock gaskets and the paper gaskets that came with the kit. Instead I sandwiched the spacer with 2 P2R Thermal Intake Gaskets. There was plenty of length to the supplied bolts and studs to bolt it down safely.
The low end and mid range power now feels like it did during the middle of the winter. The top end feels just as strong as before the install, if not slightly better. For the price, I recommend this as a quick and easy modification that helps maintain power.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I have car ADD
iTrader: (6)
So the original J-Series kit made by OE fits perfectly on the 4G?
I had this kit on my UA6 3.2L.... i was actually not impressed with the shift in power, to low end torque.... it didnt make a noticeable difference IMO... but i also did the install in the middle of June, when it was like 90 degrees out

Exactly. Normally you reuse the stock metal gasket, and then use their paper gasket. I was concerned about the new bolts and studs having length adding an additional 1/4" of space taken up by the P2R gaskets, but there was plenty of room. My intake and throttle body is very cool now even in the hot days.
