Exclamation Takeda installation question....missing hose?

I just finished installing the Takeda SRI and am about to button up the engine cover....in the course of my install, a black cube, 1.5 inches on a side, was removed from the coolant bracket. The box has a vacuum line going into one port, and the other port is simply extending from the box - there is nothing connected to it. I removed no vacuum lines during the install, and I don't see any hoses "looking for a home".

Does anyone have any idea:
a) what this box is
b) whether two hoses should be connected to it or one
c) whether I should plug the second port until I figure it out

thanks in advance

In prepreludesh's install, he did not connect any hoses to this box, and he secured it to the side and out of the way.

Not sure what the box is called but i did the same thing which is to secure it, leaving anything that was connetced to it in place.

Thanks Guys. Just to be safe, I plugged hole #2 with some electrical tape until I can get over to an Acura dealer and ask the tech what the box is. I drove the car to Logan airport on Monday morning and it ran just fine - great engine rasp at rpms over 3500. I'll report back when I find out what this is.

best,
dd

Well, no need to plug the second port. I visited an Acura dealer in Costa Mesa while I was traveling and confirmed that this box exists only in 3.7L SH-AWD models, and that it comes from the factory without a second hose connected to the second port. The service manager didn't know what the box did and didn't seem inclined to find out, so I let it go at that. I'll continue to pursue this because I want to know the box's function, but I'll take the tape off of the port when I get home cuz it doesn't seem to be a functional vacuum port.

I'll post pictures too so I don't have to keep talking in riddles.

Thanks for your comments guys.
