Polyurethane bushings

Has anyone attempted to replace their front low/up control arms OEM bushings with polyurethane bushings? Or even the rear ones. Is there a kit out there somewhere from a reputable on-line retailer?

the Only option I know of skips the plastic/rubber all together...
so, you either have oem rubber or full on spherical bearings. no in-between polyurethane...

the company is called PCI-Racing and produces Spherical bearings for our Control arms

What advantages/disadvantages would these bring? More responsive handling/quicker input response? More noise/impact harshness?

A friend with a brand new 4Runner replaced his with polyurethane and now has noticeable better cornering. Ride is a bit rougher but the handling compare to the OEM ones is superb. No squeaking that was expected either. I kinda wonder what effect will have to the SH-AWD on our cars. So I was doing some research to see who, if any, makes a set for the TL.

rubber and poly has a little play. obviously, because of the materials they are made out of.
with the spherical bearings, there IS NO PLAY! and you get a more direct steering feel.

Conclusion:
i compare this to the feeling i had when i put on the progress rear sway bar...the car feels like it's on rails in the front!! i absolutely love them and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. at higher speeds, turning is effortless and responsive and there's no give (in a good way).

if i were to get into this car without knowing it had the bearings, i wouldn't immediately say "oh this is harsh, it must have metal spherical bearings." and that's a good thing. yes it can be "jolting" at times but overall it's a great upgrade and something that i am happy i went with. i would say 85% of the time it feels no more harsh than the oem bushings

a combination of new axles (raxles) and these PCI compliance bearings makes this car feel completely new in the front...butter smooth!

It looks like PCI-Racing only makes them for 04-08 TLs?

I also noticed that. But what I am planning to do, hopefully when I have sometime, is go over the part numbers one by one for these bushings and compare 3rd gen to 4rth gen. I know the entire front upper arm is shared with all kinds of other Honda products, so perhaps the rest, at least the bushings, can be found in other models. So perhaps PCI designed bushings for other Honda/Acura arms that fit the 4th gen TLs too.

PS. BTW, anyone else, at least among the regulars here, who has noticed a deterioration of their upper control arms bushings/ball joint? It appears to me that the upper ball joint is very weak... I mean they put it on FWD Accords and then throw it on the AWD TLs too that take lots of abuse cornering because its so much fun LOL.

Sorry for the 3 year bump but so many people peopl'll do this when I get time and post it but did you ever get to get time to check those part numbers? The first 4g tl is now 11-12years old.

My compliance bushings are starting to crack on my 7G AV6. Keeping an eye on the bushing market!

HealToe has them for the 90-14 tsx. Pretty much the 09-14 tsx almost have all the same parts so if we can confirm their Compliance Bushings are the same part number then we can use the PCI ones on HealToe. They are $230 though

Suspension Dudes

Has anyone tried any of the Suspension Dudes front lower control arm kits? There are a few options in the kits that are sold on eBay and it appears that purchasers (Acura owners) are quite pleased with them. Their basic kit (8 piece) has new aftermarket control arms with "poly" (polyurethane) bushings, sway bar bushings are TPE, and front and rear sway bar end links. Other kits include lower and upper ball joints, and inner/outer contol arms. I am comparing their kits to Acura OEM bushings and ball joints. I am hesitant on aftermarket parts as I have used aftermarket bushings twice now and the lower strut bushings sag and crack in months of normal highway driving.
Thanks for your feedback
