while there's nothing stopping you from swapping knuckles and calipers; the problem arises with the stock brake master cylinder and it's ability to keep up with the new hardware. with the 3G TL, we've found by doing the math that adding the RL calipers would result in a longer 60-0mph distance with a longer pedal throw.

but would that not be the same theory as bbk that people spend 2-3 grand for? being that its just bigger calipers and bigger pads and rotors? just been thinking if theres brackets made to swap the type s or rl 4 piston calipers instead of spending few thousands for about the same brakes

the difference is; some companies actually spend R&D monies.
there is a wilwood kit (I believe it's wilwood) that bolts right up to the 4G and Wilwood actually took the time and money to do things right.
Again, there's NO stopping you from bolting up the knuckles and calipers from other acura's...Just know what you are getting into

The stopping distance is better with the stock 4G BRAKES than the 3G and RL. I myself look in this back in 2014. You might as well buy the aftermarket BBK over those. The RL and Type S brakes workS for accords and TSX.

I have the Stoptech BBK front and rear and it’s night and day difference in stopping power. Though the price is high, you get what you pay for. My buddy also has the trophies for his 4G and he has easily a $10k setup. Keep in mind that if you change your brake fluid to something more aggressive, you’ll need to flush out the old fluid and change it more often.

I was waiting for you to chime in! I couldn't remember if you had the stoptechs or wilwoods.
Stoptech did good by the 3G and created a kit that actually stops shorter than the base TL's...and it looks like they did you good by creating a kit that helps the 4G by putting in the time and money!!

OP, again...there's nothing stopping you from frakensteining your car. Just know you wont be gaining any advantage and there might even be a loss of stoppage. i always came from the mantra of...if you're going to do something, do it right!

I dont think shows matter.
I think what matters is the math. the Honda engineers worked very hard to provide you with the best stopping calipers, while keeping price down. Trust them!

How have yours lasted?
Do you drive in the winter with salt on the roads?
Will it clear OEM Stock 18's or do you need to go to 19's.

Upgrading your Pads, Rotors, Brake lines, and some redline fluid and you will be fine.
