I ended up purchasing the same as the ones in the link above. I was looking at those and the 2.5 inch inlet but after looking at this thread a few others I decided on the 3 inch inlet. Should have them by the end of the week.

personally it wouldn't appeal to me as i like my exhaust being the attention grabber of my back end, but it also would contrast with the WDP nicely

Looking at your avatar, black tips or something more chrome black will tie the theme of your TL to the back end. I prefer the black chrome over flat black as I share same opinion with lift3d, in that I want people to be able to see my exhaust and flat black may get lost. My

Anyone who has had these tips welded on, do you have any additional detailed pictures? From the side of the car, bottom of the mufflers to show the welding, close up?

I bought the tips and went to two different muffler shops who put my car on the rack and basically said "ehh.. we can do it, but I don't think you'll like the way it looks." They're saying it may stick out a bit too much and it may point downward and not look straight.

So I had the muffler tips put on and they look pretty good! I had to go to an out of town muffler shop and he welded them on in less than an hour.

Just for reference if anyone else is looking, I went with the 2.5" in and 4" out and I got them here

They did an excellent job. Just get a Megan test pipe and it will sound perfect with the stock mufflers.

He did he pretty good job but I did notice the left muffler sticks out slightly more than the right, it's not very noticeable unless you really look at it. I plan on geting the RV6 J-Pipe when it comes back in stock to get a little more sound out of the exhaust, but that's it!

I think they look good as well, although I don't dislike the factory design.

seems kind of pointless to me. the tips do nothing for sound or performance.

the stock SH-AWD tips look the best and fit the bumper the best. the car flows better with rectangular tips as the whole style is edgy... the round stuff looks wrong.

but if you like it.. go for it!

I think it's a preference in looks type of deal. If we're talking about doing things for looks over performance I could name lots of things that I personally dislike, but hey, it's a preference thing right? I'll never understand roof spoilers, staggered wheels on FWD cars or lowering your car to the point your wheels are angled and sticking out. But it's not my car and I'm not paying for it, so more power to you if you're into that!
