My first mod will be....

the K&N intake listed above. It seems like its the best choice for my first mod, and I can do it myself.

Do you think I'll notice a big difference in HP? Worth the $300?

Thoughts?

by its self the gains arent that great but when you do other exhaust mods it will do wonders. $300 seems like a decent price.

let us know what you think when you install it.

What he said. I have also heard that the K&N filter in and of itself provides very little performance gain. It was my consideration as a mod as well until I heard that, which makes sense to me.

CAI's will give you some growl, but no HP increase.

Eazyrider you have 3.5 or 3.7? I've only the Tekeda intake (twice) and can say as a stand alone it was not worth the 220, but with other exhaust mods I'm glad I bought it again for 200.

Since I dont have experience with it I'd genuinely like to know why you prefer the k&n over Tekeda if the price difference is 33% percent higher; I think not too long ago, I saw you post that you wanted a free nav update since you thought 149.00 was too much?

What are you talking about? I just asked if it was common for it to be available for a cheaper price, so cool those jets. And even if that was the case, there's a huge difference bud, you're comparing apples to oranges so I'd recommend going home and doing a little more homework before you come mouthing off like some kinda big shot. Enough said on that.

That being said, so basically everyone is telling me that I won't get any more horsepower, just more "growl"? Basically makes you like some big shot with a bunch of engine, when in fact its just a better noise.

Thanks for all the help on this one guys!

I've had K&N intakes in several vehicles and never experienced noticeable hp gains or throttle responsiveness until I paired it with an exhaust upgrade.

I'm getting a little bit of everything from everyone here.

I guess I'll just have to purchase and be the one to decide?

Don't like short ram intakes. Doesn't anyone make an actual "long tube" CAI for the 4th Gen?

I think another member here hooked up his car to his ipad and was able to get a read out on the temp in the engine bay - from what I remember once you started moving the temp dropped in the bay quite a bit. But - If I did get an intake, it would probably only be worth it for a CAI

What this needs is for the OP to do the 4G version of Inaccurate's The Ultimate Cooling Mod (linky)
.

That'll cool the air to that SRI.

You could always spend your lump sum on a different car so you can start posting on some other forum instead of here. For those of us that frequent this forum for useful advice, your useless and stupid comments ruin the experience for us.

You "run in a lump sum of money" and buy a $26,000 car and a $300 intake, it must have been a small lump cause you ain't ballin'

From personal experience, I can tell you that the more you continue to post repeat threads, the more heat you will take in here. I did a simple search of the 4G Performance Mods section and came up with TONS of threads discussing intakes.
For example:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=INTAKE

Such a AW & PW.

I didn't know posts on here had to be ground-breaking material. I guess making simple conversation isn't allowed around these parts? I pretty much needed to invent the wheel to make a new thread?

You can take your rambling to other parts of this forum. But if you want answers there are threads already containing most of if not all of what you're looking for. Doesn't have to be ground-breaking material if you search and find no answer by all means, click that button you're so familiar with already

^^^ The vets get tired of answering the same questions over and over and over. So yes, you're basically on the money there. (Which you already know because I notice this has been mentioned numerous times in your other threads, again giving way to your PW status.)

OR you could bump an old thread and add to it.
