Your title states crankshaft but your question is about camshafts.
I don't know the answer to your question but perhaps Bisimoto can answer.

The 3.7 cam is already high performance and without a tune to raise the redline I question if it will yield anything. Also, the 3.7 cam is different than other J engines. It has an extra set of lobes (+2 per cyl) for the exhaust VTEC. Can Bisimoto mod this type of cam?

Hey! This is bisimotos response Thank you for the reply. We can assist with J37 re-profiling as long as they are not pressed on lobes. I have not come across to many requests on J37 engines.

That's a lie I called them about it last summer, they said the same. I then took it upon myself to get more info on our cams and was told they're pressed on lobes by webcams who did this on another 3.7 and had to refund person they did the work for. I then check the cams for myself (bought a spare J37A4, have the front cam) and they dont look pressed on.

It's possible that H/A quietly abandoned this technology. When the 3.7L was first introduced in the MDX I remember reading about the press on lobes in the marketing material. I also remember reading how the engine was lighter because of the new alum liner block and the hollow press-lobe cams. Now I can't find that material anywhere on the internet. I've worked for similar manufacturing companies in the past, as a mechanical design engineer, and that's how technology that they don't want to use anymore, for whatever reason, goes away ... quietly.

I ran across cams for sale on our engine about 2 weeks ago. Lost the damn site but I did see $2000 for the cam tho I almost got put in the ER.

Thanks for confirm heart. We do have alum liner block bs. It would provide 10 to 15% increase in hp in the low ranges of 1.5 to 4k Rpms which this car needs. 2k is redik since the work is 799 on brand new cams are 313 a piece... Maybe there is still hope to na if not sc... Esp with ktune. Thanks for all the input

NP. Please keep me posted if you decide to move forward with this myself and another like minded individual may join you on a cam mod, in case you need more buyers to make the job feasible.
