Does anyone know how much power the 5 speed auto can take? If I wanted to do a custom supercharger or turbo set up I want to know just about how much the tranny could take without blowing also if there is a way to reinforce it with stronger parts like they do with some drag cars and after market turbo set ups.

 

I don't think anyone knows for sure. I've spoken with Rob who's dealership in Washington is working with CT-E designing a 4G blower and he confirmed that the stock internals held up fine with an additional 80-90whp.

They're slow to respond (email) and never give dates in regards to product releases. I've also called them a few times and they never gave me a straight answer as to when the ice box or blower will be released for the 4G TL. Best I got was "soon", "within the next few months", etc.

The 4G TL is not a high-volume seller like the 2G's and 3G's.

So there will be very few, if any, aftermarket shops which are willing to invest resources into developing big ticket 4G parts, that will likely won't make money on.

 

Sad thing is though, that it's already developed and the only problem they're having is tuning the car. If they got a hold a the 3G turbo ECU they'd solve that quickly.
