First performance mod
I'm going with something new and unique, going to drop weight on the car and add the loudest air roar on any TL. This weekend I'm looking to remove all of my windows including the windshield and rear window as well. This will increase the roar of air flow considerably, it will also drop a few pounds. I'm assuming close to 2-3 hundred pounds. I won't need the switches either to roll the windows up and down, that's more weight there. This mod will get me 2 extra HP I'm thinking but the weight savings and extra air my car will receive it should be close to a 50-75 hp increase with a TQ pickup around 100. I would like potsmilk thoughts on this.

Did it fail? Are you still on my threads and commenting about me on yours? Obviously it didn't fail, I'm in your head and on your mind. Mission accomplished. You can't even help yourself and you will eventually post again on this thread or in one of your current threads mentioning my name yet again or something I said. The ball is in your court.
On other forums that I frequent, this would be grounds for a temp ban at the minimum (unless in an off topic forum).
The guy isn't a legacy member, which would only make it easier to give him the boot. I don't see why that's not the case here.

especially the 4G forum. the moderators expect you older gentlemen to play nice.
in the 3g tl section, since the value dropped and any one with a little cash can pick up the 3G, it's a frenzy.

Something tells me you guys would be VERY busy, haha!
Btw, you need to update the date in your signature to Sat, May 10th.
Haha! Makes me feel a little better. Think you're pretty much on the same timeline as me though, at least in regards to your first home purchase (pretty sure I read that somewhere on AZ). I bought my first house when I was 27 too.
Overall I'm still getting used to not being the young one anymore. My sister is 10 years older and my brother is 8 years older. I was the second youngest in my graduating class in high school (was in college for a few days before turning 18). I always dated older girls and most of my friends were a year or two older back in the day (doesn't seem like much now but it did back then). Hell I went on the senior trip to Cancun when I was a junior.
I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Fortunately I'm still young minded in most regards.

The biggest issue I have on here are the members who think they have a sports car and believe all of their bolt ons are giving them crazy performance gains. At first I use to laugh at people like this, then I tried to help people and now I just want to bash my head into the wall. When people buy a cat back exhaust system and it says "gains up to 15hp" most people say cool I'm going to add 15 hp to my car. Most people don't understand what up 15hp means. Typically this means a tune and every bolt on possible including an intake. And by intake I don't mean those stupid cold air intakes. Which most people actually believe is their intake manifold because they have no clue between the two of them. Bolting on a cat back exhaust with out a tune and full bolt ons to accommodate the exhaust is pointless in performance gains. Why do you think there are a lot of slow mustangs out there that make a lot of noise? Loud doesn't equal fast.

duh.
they are just modding the car to mod the car, wasting money.
the correct way to go about it, is to teach not ridicule.
you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink.
people are going to do whatever they fucking feel like, and you cant stop them.
I know people are going to do whatever they like, it's their money so whatever on that part. But when you try to explain to people how things actually work, they just say well it says I will get 15hp, I believe the box not you. Some of them will even say,w yea all kinds of BS is on the Internet, and they won't even bother to call a performance shop or speak to someone who is knowledgable in this field. I don't try to ridicule people, but when someone keeps saying I picked up 60hp from my mods and "I can feel it" and you try and tell them no that's not how it works and it's just in your head, they flip out. And let's not even get into TQ, because most people are only set on hp numbers. These aren't just noobs either.
remember my offtopic pro tips?
you'll need to learn to distinguish who is a serious modder, and who is just wasting money.
I see it all the time in the 3rd gen TL section. swapping out the superior factory intake for a intake that sucks up hot air.
its because they're new and dont really know anything about cars. all we can do is point them in the correct direction and pray they dont waste any more money.

Keep in mind that some of us bought an SRI knowing damn well it's a pricey noisemaker. I grin from ear to ear everytime I hear that sound and don't feel that it's hurting anything (at least not to the extent that I can feel it). The same goes for my magnaflows. I'm not trying to make my TL a racecar and don't consider either a waste of money because I accomplished what I wanted.
In addition, there have NEVER been any before/after dynos done on the AWD with an SRI so there's no absolute proof as to the results. I'm not claiming it hurts or helps but I'd love to see actual proof of what it does (if anything), as opposed to a bunch of opinions (even if they are valid and from people who know a lot more than me about cars).

and I only gave the 3G as an example, c'mon son....keep up. you're being as retarded as them right now
Hahah I don't care what they say bout members like Justn/Mr.Marco they're worth their weight in gold and some!
Ok, I know what you're referring to. I thought you were talking about something in the 3G section. That comment you made at that time wasn't as noteworthy due to some other members comments on that thread.
This was intended to be a fun/comical thread. Some members didn't see it that way I guess, amd it did take a turn to a more serious thread I guess. But it was never intended to be one.
Amongst personal friends, this would be fine as they know who you are and know when you are joking but when you are online and amongst strangers, we might not know that. Just something to keep in mind and my 2 cents. Take it for what its worth.
