Sorry fellas, I'm at the mercy of the photographer here. I promise these will be great shots and should do an excellent job carrying over the visual message of the persona of this system we developed over the web for those who can't see it in person.

With a catback exhaust, is it better to have a high flow cat or a race pipe? Whats the difference and what gives you the most gains? Is there a sound difference between the two? Like drone for example.

As far as I know:

Race Pipe - slight more gain but not noticeable, smells, inspection fail, sounds a bit more raspier.
HFC - opposite of race pipe but costs double

Hope this helps you decide....

A resonator is a smaller muffler that sits in the pipe passing under the car. It has the effect of lowering the volume of the exhaust a bit, sound-wise. You typically get less droning and overall less noise with a resonator. If you want to feel and hear the exhaust more, pass on it. If you want a more conservative increase in sound, get the resonated version!

It's hard to judge based on text alone. The difference is that the Race Pipe deletes your 3rd catalyst, where as the Hi-Flow Catalyst...well..allows you to retain a catalyst in it's place, obviously much better flowing than stock (comparable to having no cat).

Having a catalyst is a quieter alternative than the Race Pipe, only barely. The Race Pipe provides a slightly throatier exhaust note.

The best way to determine if you want a Race Pipe or Hi-Flow catalyst is to run with the cat-back system only for at least a month to two, so you can allow the system to break in and the driver to become used to it. That way you can determine if you want a slightly more throaty note, or if you want to keep it the way it is (sound wise), but want to free up a bit more power.

Quick question. Do I want resonated or non resonated?
Resonated is one step tamer than having no resonator and it's recommended if you are very sensitive about it being aggressive. Most people that know what their in for normally already know that they want a non-resonated unit. If you are unsure of if you need an aggressive exhaust note, go with the resonated. Chances are you can always sell the pipe later and purchase the non-resonated pipe separately.

Eazy, your car looks amazing, from what I can tell in your avatar!

Is there something prohibiting you from posting sound clips or videos of the exhaust? Its not gonna benefit me any since I'm awd, but there have been a lot of inquiries for sound clips.

Mike from ATLP had mentioned taking sound clips the next time we meet up for final dyno. I am not sure when thats going to be. I don't own a video camera so the only way I can film a sound clip would be from my iPhone. Since this is a big release for ATLP, I want to make sure the audio and video is of the highest quality. If I posted an iPhone video it would not serve the proper purpose IMO. I know there have been numerous sound clip requests and I am sure they will eventually happen. Sorry I can't be of more assistance, but I am sure ATLP realizes the importance of the dyno and audio clips to move units.

Thats a good enough response for me lol. Seems to be taking forever for a sound clip, but patience is a virtue..... unfortunately Im not very virtuous.

I also don't mind waiting a bit either, especially since there is no AWD yet... That and too many other things I need to spend my money on.

You mean the rear underbody spoiler? I wanted to know the same thing. Worse case scenario I'll have to find out the hard way.

So Buck, what specific setup (J-pipe/HFC/Race Pipe) do you have and your suggestions? ATLP has several different combos offered on heeltoeauto.com

I see the cat-back is $1300 but if you want to add the J-pipe and HFC, each additional part cost over $300. Are they worth it?

Thanks for your help,
Travis

So I received the exhaust in stages. First I ran with just the j-pipe for a month or so. A tone increase and noticable power gains with just he J-pipe. Next came the race-pipe this added an aggressive tone, but I didnt notice a lot of power increase from the race-pipe. Lastly we added the last stage the cat-back. This made the largest difference for tone and again I noticed an increase in power. I would def add the J-pipe along with the cat-back.
