Cool Exhaust Advice

I'm really tempted to add a catback exhaust...to anyone who has one, which one do u have and what are your opinions on it. I don't want a full exhaust because I don't want it any louder than it has to be, not looking for a headache every time I drive, just some added tone and performance.

In the interest of exploring options and not to insult ATLP or XLR8's designs, they are awesome, but what effect would deleting the resonators and replacing the OEM mufflers with say Borla or Magnaflow race mufflers have? Would the same deep tone be achieved? J Pipe and Test pipe would already be installed? Any input would be appreciated. Again, just exploring options.

You wanting a cat-back contradicts you not wanting a full exhaust. If you don't want to lose your resonator, then just go custom and add mufflers. Look into Borla. They give you a nice tone. Check Youtube for sound clips

I didn't know Comp-Tech made axle-backs for the 4G, I thought it was only the 3G and older, or does the system for the 3G fit the 4G. CT-Engineering makes and axle back for the 4G FWD.

I feel like a rah-tard now, CT-Engineering = CompTech, haha.
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/CT-Engine...-pr-65275.html is the same system.

Anyways, it looks like a good set up, do you know of anyone who has installed it and has posted pics? I am interested in how it looks, all the fittings and whatnot. Thanks. Also, wouldn't replacing the OEM mufflers with say Borla accomplish the same result, but for a lower cost?

the ATLP catback looks incredible in my opinion, but again...depends on whether you're fwd or sh-awd; only available for the fwd. xlr8 has one out for the sh-awd group, doesn't he? i've seen them, but i'm not a huge fan of the tips - i love the way the comptechs sit, but unfortunately they're only available as an axle-back so i guess that's out for you.

yea, its like 1k for just axle backs...

i do like the ATLP exhaust because it sits better.

the XLR8 exhaust looks kind of weird.. for some reason it tilts down..

ill definitely buy axle back from ATLP if they had it for sale.

Yes, now that I think about it, getting a J-Pipe would make more sense for me, not much louder and similar HP gains compared to cat-back.
