Hi I currently own a 2011 tl sh awd, I got the resonator removed it sounds pretty good without it. But, I want to make it a little louder.
Would it be better to put the resonator back then remove the muffler?
Also does anyone got a video of their vehicle just muffler delete with res, couldn't find proper once on YouTube.

Or as I seen someone switched our their muffler and put MagnaFlow mufflers and kept his own quad tips but he kept his resonator still.

Just need a little advice,
Appericiate it.

 

what up mang?
when experimenting with exhaust, you're doing just that...experimenting.
no one can tell you what it will sound like, as there are many many many different variables in play.
the only thing we can give you is the formula, which you have.
- remove all restrictions.(resontor=silencer=muffler)
- add more aggressive mufflers (magnaflow, flowmaster, borla, etc)

keep playing with different pieces and eventually you'll come out with an awesome sounding TL.

 

The best part of Exhaust mods is doing what works for you. The only way is trial and error. Youtube vids don't always do justice remember. If you end up wanting to do an exhaust set up let me know and I can quote prices for you. Good Luck.

Thank you both for your replies, i totally agree with both of you guys.
I'm just weighing out my options I could just get a whole new exhaust system, but I'm also keen on if it will make a difference from switching out stock mufflers to a different brand that will give it a lower tone.
What you guys think?

 

like previously mentioned, its not what we think!!

its all about you and what you think sounds cool/budget.
if you can afford and think a full exhaust will satisfy you, grab it.

or you can keep playing with exhaust by removing mid-mufflers/resonators adding mufflers.

it's really up to you.

 

I was after power and have a expendable income.
so, I went fully catless by purchasing a full exhaust from heads to tips. all in all, i think it touched $2500.00


so, again...what is your budget? and how far do you want to take the modding?
