I have looked all over, both online and in local shops, but unfortunately there does not appear to be a large collection of DVD-A material out there, and when you can find it, its mixed in with CD's.

Has anyone found a good source of DVD-A albums?

The best I have found so far is amazon, and even there it seems sparse. It seems kinda silly to have a ELS system and nothing to play to appreciate it outside of the disc that came with the car, and Pink Floyds "The Wall" and a dozen or so Jazz and Classical titles.

AMAZON DVD-A HERE

The majority of DVD-A releases are now out of print and fetch a very big price on ebay. A good resource on DVD-a xan be found here

VA, you can't burn DVD Audio discs to the HDD. Amazon will be your best bet to find some.

Try these sites too:

http://www.5point1.com/index2.html
http://store.acousticsounds.com/index.cfm
http://www.buy.com/sr/searchresults....pv=1&cid=46799
http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/.../DVD+Audio.htm

Also, try www.HDTracks.com-this is a hi-res download site that you can burn to disc.

Well, seems like the greatest feature of the sound system, considering they give you a disc to show it off, turns out to be an outdated format that never really took on, and with limited material to listen to, and considering you can't burn it to your HDD like you can normal CD music, its pretty much window dressing.

Oh well, suppose I will grab a half dozen or so albums and keep them in the glove box to show off from time to time.

Pink Floyd just came out with a box set version of Dark Side Of The Moon which contains a DVD-A version.

When I first purchased my 2010 TL, I saw the DVD-A capabilities of the system tantamount to having a MiniDisc or a DAT player in the car...I even think there are more SACD titles available than DVD-A...

(Pink Floyd is also about to release Wish You Were Here on SACD next month)

The disc on the box set isn't DVD-A. It's made for a regular DVD player.
I was lucky to obtain most of my DVD-A collection(50+)when they were released.
And if you are good with DVD ripping programs you can make your own DVD-A's from DVD's and blu-rays.

I created several Pink Floyd DVD-A's using Circlinca (sp?). Animals came out great.

I have quite a few DVD-As as well.

Was there ever a version of The Wall on DVD-A? And I don't mean a DVD-A conversion/rip of the live show/movie. I'm looking for a DVD-A version from the studio album. Thanks in advance!

None of the Pink FLoyd library was done on DVD-A.. DSOTM was done on SACD and recently on bluray.

Black friday dvd audio disc sale

You guys have been asking where to buy DVD Audio discs.

I just got an e-mail from Acoustic Sounds (AcousticSounds.com) with a coupon for 10% off any music in stock, including DVD Audio discs. The coupon code is "BlackFridaySale".

The offer is good now through November 29th at 11:59 pm.

Guys, realize that there are different categories for DVD Audio discs. Here is the link that you want:

http://store.acousticsounds.com/inde...x=7&search.y=6

On the right hand side of this page, you'll see "Refine Your Search". Underneath that, you'll see 7 different categories of DVD Audio/Video discs. Look at all of them. Just realize that all of those categories might work in your TL EXCEPT for the DualDiscs-they will NOT work in the car.

Just purchased 4 DVD-A's (Abraxas, ABB Live at Fillmore, American Beauty & End of the Innocence) from Amazon to start. I hope that all DVD-A's are the quality of the demo DVD-A that came with the vehicle.
I plan to try the HD Tracks option later on. I looked at a few 96KHz titles but they download as a *.flac file. Do I have to convert the file and then burn to DVD-A to work?

This is exactly what I'm trying to find information on. Any idea of what software is needed to rip audio from DVD-Video to DVD-Audio? There are far more DVD's of videos/concerts in DTS/5.1 than DVD-A. Getting a Honda Odyssey Touring is a better move to slap DTS in the rear entertainment and start listening to 5.1.

I have been listening to the demo DVD-A a lot and I am really impressed and spoiled. radio, XM, iPod just don't sound as good I haven't tried CD yet.

I started to check out the Amazon re-sellers and got Jackson Browne's Running on Empty DVD-A for a reasonable price.

Hopefully I can learn better on how to make my own DVD-A from the DTS tracks in my DVD (such as Eagles' Hell Freeze over tour DVD.)

Any pointers to that effort?

Sorry for the thread bump. I have been looking at the 3G garage and old threads, but the answers are mixed. Can you burn music onto a DVD-RW to make it sound like the demo DVD-A?

Or will it just sound like a regular CD?

Champ, I'm not totally sure, but I think you'll get the high resolution sound, but not sure if you'll get the surround sound separation in sound though.

Hello Guys,

I bought my forest ever Acura Tl SH AWD and loved everything in it, except it is a bit smaller than what I used to drive on, Maxima. It was more roomy and have place for everything.
any way I am here to make some dvd A people smile.

how many people wants a ton on dvd A

guess in just 3 days I have almost 40+ dvd A title downloaded and burned on dvd and play great on my TL.

what you need is a filepost premium ac, it will cost you $13 and a mac.

now let me assume you don't want to download but have lots of tracks but don't know how to burn a dvd A.... here it is

on mac you need a program call BURN. download and drag to your application folder( thats how we install application on mac)
now start the BURN app and select Audio, under audio you choose dvd audio from drop down menu on right. Add the files and simply hit burn...... bingo the DVD A will be ready much quicker you can make coffee.

if you guys have any problem write your comment please.

I've recently purchased Audio DVDs from Amazon, eBAY and Amoeba music store in Hollywood CA. You can find them on line as well. The sound quality is incredible; DTS CDs are really great but the Audio DVDs are so much better. By the way I paid 25.00 for my Sting DVD and 14.99 each for Eagles and Toy Matinee and... I'm waiting for Blue Man, aslo about 15.00. They all have been used but in perfect condition. Good luck, this is a fun obsession!

^^^ Those prices are about ballpark for a DVD Audio disc. Guys, don't pay more than that. I've seen some online for $50+....yikes.

It's not a bad idea to ask question on sites like eBay before you buy. Not everyone advertises correctly. I've had to ask if they were actually selling a Audio DVD because their ad was unclear. Would hate to think I was buying DVD-A and end up with a CD lol.

^^^ Yes, especially since the format is now dead. When DVD-A's were abundant, many people working at stores didn't know exactly what they were themselves.
